Victory Over Binges

Seeking victory over binges.

Expect victory over binges.

Lord, I need victory over binges. I need Your help. I’m caught in a trap, a trap of my own making. Now it seems I can’t get out. Oh why do I go insane at night, especially when I’m tired?

Child, that’s when Satan knows it’s the best time to harass you, when you are tired. Tonight, when you get tired, just go to bed and rest.

Habits need changing. And Child of Mine, this stronghold on you is so strong that you need My power to resist the temptation. Child, I can help you.

But Lord, how? We’ve talked about this many times before. And I’m still trapped, unable to set myself free.

But Child, I can set you free.

But Lord, how? You’ve suggested many things to me before. Then I get so encouraged and start out in victory. Then later, I fall right back into this trap of defeat.

Child, I will lift you out of this despair, this trap, this self-inflicted bondage. I will lift you out and set you free.

But Lord, how?

Child, just call My name.

Lord, when the thought comes to overeat, I don’t think. My mind is blank. All I focus on is what to eat. What do I want to eat?

Child, only I can fill this void you have. It is I who you need to fill you up.

Lord, how?

Call on My name, Jesus.

God will give you victory over binges.

Lord, could You give me a scripture from Your Word besides those I already know? I have head knowledge, but I just can’t seem to get myself out of this self-inflicted trap. I’ve dug this hole and jumped in for the pleasures within. Now I’m trapped and I can’t get myself out.

Child, I can get you out.

But Lord, how?

Call on My Name. Ask for your deliverance in My name, the name of Jesus.

— I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope. She will give herself to Me there, as she did long ago when she was young, when I freed her from her captivity in Egypt. Hosea 2:15 NLT

Child, you are now trapped in the Valley of Trouble and defeat. But I am your hope and you will sing of “Victory in Jesus”. And you will gain your victory just as you did many years ago.

Feed on My Word for there is where you will find your strength. You search My word each morning, but then zone out on your social media at night to relax. That’s why your mind goes blank. You have zoned out to relax.

Now I command you – no more zoning out on social media at night for you must be alert and focused. You want success and victory. Therefore feed on My Word each night and it will renew your mind.

Why did you think I told Joshua to mediate on it day and night? Weakness results from physical exhaustion.  And I want to build you up in your faith and your power to resist temptation. I want to make you strong.

So, to renew your mind and make you strong, feed on My Word day and night. Take it as medicine for your soul and your mind.

—- Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Joshua 1:8 NLT

Through My Word, I will increase your self-control, self- discipline, and renew your mind. Then you’ll be feeding your mind wisdom and strength, faith and power. As you feed on My Word to build your spiritual muscles, it will make you strong indeed. You will emerge undefeated and victorious.

Now here’s your challenge: Feed on My word for 40 days and nights. See how that works for you.

Seek My Wisdom

Seek My wisdomChild, I say to you again, “Seek My wisdom. turn your eyes toward Me.”

Chaos Everywhere

Posted on by

Lord, it seems the world has gone crazy, chaos everywhere, heartache, suffering, sickness, death, confusion, people attacking one another without even thinking about it. Hatred, it seems abounds throughout. Sometimes I think, “Jesus, come take me out of this mess.”Chaos Everywhere

But then I remember all those who are lost. Some were never taught about You or Your love for them. Therefore they never had a chance to know Your love. So what can I expect from them except hatred?

Chaos Everywhere

They look at this world’s situation too. They see the chaos everywhere and they have no hope. Lord, send someone into their lives that will share Your love with them.

And Lord, I ask for forgiveness because sometimes I respond in anger to these haters, especially on social media. I forget they don’t know You.

How can I show Your love for them if I respond in hatred back at them? So what am I to do?

Child, pray before you respond to others. Up to now you’ve just responded without thoughtful consideration. In fact, you responded through your emotions many times.

Yes Sir. (Hanging my head in embarrassment)

Now Child, I’m instructing you to pray and seek My guidance before you open your mouth in response to others. Pray before you speak, type a word, or even before you “share” the thoughts of others.

God help me.

I want all My children to be witnesses of My love and not respond to others out of hatred. So pray before responding. Take a minute of your time before you respond to anyone. No more immediate responses. Seek My wisdom first.

Lord, help me. A while back, I saw a sign that said, “Lord, put Your arm around my shoulder and Your hand over my mouth.” I need this. Help me.

Child, if you seek My wisdom before you respond, then I will grant you words of wisdom to share. I will put My Word in your mouth. I will lead you and I will guide you.

Yes Sir. Thank you Sir.Chaos Everywhere

Lord, it’s going to be hard. This is a year of politics. You know my feelings.

Yes Child. That’s why I’m giving you instructions. This year is going to be a war of words and chaos everywhere. But it’s always been that way since sin first entered Eden.

So remember to pray first before responding to others. Keep your focus to seek My wisdom before you speak.

Also, follow these same instructions before you eat too. Pray first. Then seek My wisdom. Do this before opening  your mouth either to speak or to eat. Then you will have victory.

Yes Sir. Thank you Sir.

Lord, I also ask that Your love wash over this land and all people groups. Fill all of us with Your love and mercy. Help us to show Your love and mercy to each other. You are our only hope. Thank you for hearing our prayers.

Words of Wisdom

Be ANGRY [at sin-at immorality,, at injustice, at ungodly behavior],  YET DO NOT SIN; do not let your anger [cause you shame ,nor allow it to] last until the sun goes down. Ephesians 4:26 AMP

God, give me grace to guard my lips from speaking what is wrong. Guide me away from temptation and doing evil. Save me from sinful habits and from keeping company with those who are experts in evil. Help me not to share in their sin in any way, Psalm 141: 3-4 TPT

I leave the gift of peace with you-My peace. Not the kind of fragile peace given by the world, but My perfect peace. Don’t yield to fear or be troubled in your hearts- instead, be courageous! John 14:27 TPT

Yet even in the midst of all these things, we triumph over them all, for God has made us to be more than conquerors, and his demonstrated love is our glorious victory over everything! Romans 8:37 TPT

Fight The Gluttony Monster With God’s Solid Food – Holy 30 Devotional**- Day 11 & 12

Posted on by

Lord, the Gluttony Monster comes to my house at night. He doesn’t bother me during the day for the most part, but he shows up most every night to harass me. How can I fight him? He’s bigger and stronger than me. I’m such a weakling against him. He beats me up most every night.

He usually shows up every evening around suppertime, sometimes before supper, sometimes after. Then he hangs around for a late night snack, only it’s a buffet. Sometimes he rides in the car with me and forces me to turn my car into the fast food drive-up windows. What can I do?

I’m not supposed to have murder in my heart. This I know,  but I REALLY WANT TO KILL this Gluttony Monster. He’s taking control of my life and I’m sick of it. He torments me all the time. I feel so helpless and defeated by this enemy.

This past Wednesday night at church, the pastor said that you don’t have to give into sin and then say you can’t help it. He said  the only reason you can’t help it is that you’re not willing to yield yourself to the Holy Spirit’s control. Lord, is that true?

Yes, My child, it is true.

Well then, Lord,. . .  I give myself to You right now. Place me under the control of Your Holy spirit. You take control of me. Anyway I’m not doing a very good job of self-control right now. As a matter of fact, it seems I’ve never done a good job of self-control. I give myself to You. Take me, use me, for I am Yours.

Help me kill this Gluttony monster? Help me! I hate being controlled by him.

Child of Mine, one way to defeat this Gluttony Monster is to quit feeding him. Feed your soul instead.

Lord, how do I do that?

To begin with, feed your soul by reading My Word, The Bible. Reading your Bible instead of looking at that Facebook will make you stronger. You give medicine to your dog twice a day. When your Dad was recuperating at your house after his knee surgery, he took medicine twice a day. Now I’m giving you a spiritual prescription. Read My Word twice a day, morning and night. If you do this, you will grow stronger and defeat this Gluttony Monster, your enemy.

That’s how I defeated My enemy. I had been in the Wilderness for 40 days and my enemy came with all his temptations, but I defeated him with the Word of God. I defeated him with, “It is written . . .”

Once you become full of My Word, you can also tell your enemy, “It is written.” He can never go against My Word. I won’t even go against My Word. If it is written, then it is forever to be.

You must feed on My solid food to defeat and destroy this Gluttony Monster. Now My child, get out your Bible and feed yourself My solid food. You aren’t a wimpy baby. ‘It is written’.  Now feed My Words to your mind and grow up.

Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”  He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4: 1-4

For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me. Psalm 18:39

Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down. Revelation 12:10

Renew Your Mind By Reading God’s Word-Holy 30 Devotional- Day 5

Renew and Improve Your Mind With God’s Word

Thank you Lord for Your Word. Not only does it minsters to our hearts and souls, but it also improves and renews our minds.

Alzheimer’s has claimed most all of my Mother’s side of the family. I’ve heard that to keep your mind sharp, you must exercise it by continuously reading and  learning. What better way to renew your mind than reading and learning from God’s Word.

Encouragement comes from Your Word when I need it. Your Word says, “With God, all things are possible.” Your Word says, “Fear not for I am with you” when I need courage. When I’m unlovable, Your word says, “I love you.” Your Word says, “I will give you victory” every time I feel like a failure. The Bible, Your Word has all the answers.

Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. 1 Peter 1:13 NKJV

. . .  Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.          1 Corinthians 15:57

Hearing From God (Not Just My Weight Loss Counselor)

Posted on by

(This post is not about weight loss or counseling, but due to a request from a dear blog friend. She writes about life from the other side of the world and keeps her identity hidden. But you can check out her blog:               https://susieshy45.wordpress.com

Lord, my friend asks, “How do you hear from God?” What do I tell her?

Tell  her to listen for My quiet voice of love spoken deep within her heart. Listen for My words calling her name. Tell her to answer, “Lord, here I am,” and I will speak to her heart. I am calling her now. Tell her I never yell or scream. Tell her to listen for the still quiet voice. Tell her that I love her more than she’ll ever know. Continue reading

FEED ON THE MANNA!

Your Word

Your Word (Photo credit: rachel_titiriga)

—– You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them. And did not withhold Your manna from their mouths. . . . . . . . .                                  Nehemiah 9:20 NKJV

Lord, I want Your Holy Spirit to instruct me and I also want to “feed” on Your heavenly manna!

( Then eat of My Word, My child. If you eat of My Word then you will be “full” of My heavenly manna!)

——How sweet are Your Words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!           Psalm 119:103 NKJV

Oh Lord, thank you! I didn’t know that Your Word was our “manna” today. The Israelites in the desert had Your manna, which was a sweet wafer like a bread. But today we have Your Word, which we should consider “sweet” but it seems that today no one wants to read Your Word. We are all on our computers or our cell phones. I am guilty myself of choosing to play on my toy of technology. Lord, I ask for forgiveness each time that I chose my toy over Your Word.

—–  Direct my steps by Your Word. And let no iniquity have dominion over me.          Psalm 119:133 NKJV

——Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to covetousness. Turn my eyes away from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way. Establish Your Word to Your servant, who is  devoted to fearing You.   Psalm 119: 36-38 NKJV

Lord, fill me with the desire to eat from Your Word and not eat from the abundance of  earthly pleasures in the kitchen, in the restaurants, or in the market. But rather Lord, let me be full of a desire for You and Your Word.

—-I have not departed from the commandments of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food. Job 23:12 NKJV

(My child, if you will feed from My Word, My heavenly manna, your physical body will decrease and your spiritual body, your soul will increase. I will fill you with Myself and you will be full forevermore.)

Oh yes Lord, I desire to be “full” of You, of Your Holy Spirit, and of Your Word! Fill me with Yourself! I am Yours, do with me as You wish!

(Come here, My child. Sit with Me! Behold I come unto you with My Presence. Allow Me to satiate your soul!)

—- For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. Jeremiah 31:25 NKJV
