Walk In Obedience

Posted on by

Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience to Him. You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. Psalm 128:1-2 NIV

__________________________

You know Lord . . . I didn’t walk in obedience yesterday. And now I’m here before You asking for forgiveness again, yet another time. Because I know I don’t deserve it, Your love amazes me.

Please help me walk in obedience today. And please forgive me. We both know that I didn’t bring You any honor, glory, and praise yesterday. Help me to fulfill Your will in all I do, say, think, and even to what I eat in Jesus’ name.

Lord, . . . all I can say is I’m sorry.

Child, I’m sorry too. You could have had victory, supernatural victory. But now you don’t. Instead you have weight gain.

Yes Sir.

So you didn’t weigh yourself today, did you?

No Sir.Romans 8:28 and trust

I see . . . if only you would come to Me. Then I could deliver you from this bondage. After all, I have many plans of victory for you.

Oh Lord, I do want victory.

Then come here to Me.

Yes Lord, here I am.

Know that you are Mine and nothing can change that. I love you, My child.

Sir, I love You too. I’m sorry I wasted yesterday. I do want to serve You. Yesterday, I know You saw it all.

Yes Child, but I’m not giving up on you.

Yes Child, I will complete My work in you. So you can rest assured I will have My way in your life. And you can rest assured I will complete My work of victory.

But Lord, I don’t understand. Why don’t You give up on me?

Because you are Mine. After all, you are marked by My blood covering your sin.

And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ- to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:9-11 NIV

Child, I want you filled with the fruits of righteousness. Overall, I want you filled with My Presence, My Holy Spirit.

But Lord, how?

Through praise and worship. Then you will be filled with My joy, My love, and My Presence.

Never Give Up

Posted on by

Never give up. It’s been the pattern of my whole adult life, weight gain, weight loss, weight gain, weight loss, on and on. Finally after 39 years of struggling with obesity weighing 241, I sought God for help and direction.

I went to God everyday for weight loss counseling until I achieved my weight loss goal. This took approximately 9-10 months. Beginning at 241 pounds, I lost 90 pounds with God’s help and maintained this weight loss for over two years following the way God told me to eat.

Then after this success, I thought I had arrived at my dream and could eat just as I did before my weight loss. So I began eating snacks now and again. Over time, this led to much more overeating.

So the number on the scales started creeping up. But I thought “No problem, I can just go back to my weight loss any time I want to.” Wrong.

Today I wish I had never done that. I wish I had stayed in my place of eating in obedience to the way God led me to. Sigh. It’s taken two more years but I’ve gained over +30 lbs. How easily the sins of gluttony have piled up. Lord forgive me. Forgive myself..This is actually a complimentary picture. In the mirror, it looks worse. Sigh.

My grandfather’s legacy is that he said, “Never give up!” His feet got frostbitten during WW1. After getting treatment, he walked all the way back to the front lines and continued fighting for our country. If you can hear me in Heaven, Grandpa, thank you for leaving the legacy of “Never give up.”

I don’t know about you, but now that I’m back on the straight and “narrow” path of eating, it seems harder. My weight goes up a few, goes down a few, back up again, then down again, even though I’m following my correct eating plan. It’s so frustrating. Do you get frustrated too?

Sometimes I feel like just giving up. After all, I’m 67 years old. I took God and His delivering power for granted. Thought I could use it anytime I wanted. Do I give up now at my old age? Have I backslidden too much?

Child, I’m not giving up on you no matter what you eat or do. You are Mine and I have plans for you. Therefore, I will never give up on you.

With God on our side we can’t help but win- uh, lose.

Remember, “Never give up.”

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 NKJV

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6 NKJV

“Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark‬ ‭9:23‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Semi-Fasting – Help Me Understand.

Posted on by

Semi-fasting – Lord, help me understand. For one thing, why am I not losing weight? Given that I’ve only been eating one main meal a day for several days now, I should be losing weight. But I’m at a standstill. In fact I haven’t lost any weight? Why? I did drink milk for breakfast and have soup for the remaining meal. Those scales are staying the same.  Lord, I do want to lose weight and it’s just not happening. Help me understand what is going on with my body. Continue reading

Liar! Stop Listening To Lies.

Posted on by

Liar! You know he’s a liar. Now stop listening  to those lies of accusation.  Don’t listen to the liars of defeat and discouragement either. Have you ever heard these words in your spirit? Then refuse to accept to accept them. They’re lies from the chief liar.

You’ll never lose this extra weight. Your body is getting older now and your metabolism is slower too. So you probably won’t lose this weight. The part of your life when losing weight came easy is over now. The freedom of eating whatever is gone forever. You will have to spend the rest of your life counting calories, carbs, and measuring your food. Oh, what a life of misery this is. You’re going to have to eat salads and baked chicken for the rest of your life. How boring for you. Why did God make you this way, so easy to gain weight with low thyroid and all. You know why? This is why, He doesn’t care about you or what you eat.

Why don’t you just give up? Relax and just eat what ever your heart desires. Just be a happy fat person. After all, no one really cares. You know, fat is in. Body shaming is out. You’re constantly body shaming yourself. Why don’t you just enjoy being fat. Everybody else does. Relax. After all, who really cares how much you weigh? God doesn’t even care if you’re fat. So why do you struggle to lose weight? Just let yourself go. Enjoy your food. After, God created pleasure. So experience your pleasures of life. Eat, drink, and be merry.

All of those statements are from the liar of liars. What does God say?

So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you; Take your everyday ordinary life- your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking around life- and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without  even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what He wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you. Romans 12:1-2 The Message

What’s that saying to you? How do these words compare to the words of the liar? Who do you want to believe, God or the Liar?

Have you ever heard these words?

Go ahead, charge it. After all, it’s on sale. If you don’t get it now, it’ll be gone tomorrow. You better get it now. While it’s on sale is the best time to buy. Just think of all the money you’re saving. You can pay it back later. It doesn’t really matter. You’ll pay it back.

What about these words?

Go ahead, put the trip on your charge card. After all, it’s a business expense. In fact you can count it off on your taxes later. This whole trip, the gas, the hotel, and all your food counts as a business expense. Since it’s business, you can count all this off on your taxes. So go ahead and pick the nicer restaurants. There’s no need to cut expenses. Go for it. After all, you’re a success now. So it doesn’t matter if you use the charge card. This is business. Go for it.

Have you ever heard this?

You need these supplies/services to build your business. Get them now and use the charge card. After all, it takes money to make money. So go ahead and buy these supplies now. They’re here now and you won’t find them later. Doesn’t matter if you use the charge card, you’ll pay it back with all the money you make. Just think of all the profit you’ll make. This is an investment. Go ahead, and charge it. After all, you need this right now in order to succeed. So go for it. After all, you’re going to be successful. Then it won’t matter that you charged these supplies.

Yep, all lies from the chief liar. What does God say?

The poor are always ruled over by the rich, so don’t borrow and put yourself under their power. Proverbs 22: 7 The Message

New Heart, Need One? Get It Here.

Posted on by

Lord, I need a new heart. First, I want to thank you for Your peace. But I think I really need a new heart. Would You guide me, direct me, and lead me to Your will? I praise up to You  for who You are, the God of all. Would You guide my mouth and my thoughts so they honor You?  I want Your will in all things. Please take all thoughts out of my heart if they’re not pleasing to You. Lord, You know Your will and that’s what I want.

Child, I am teaching you throughout all this you call life. I am teaching you.

Lord, please forgive me for being selfish. I know it’s selfish, but I do want my size 10″s back. I know I backslid into binge eating, but is it possible? Would You allow me to return back to where I was? I know You’re a God of mercy and forgiveness. And I know that I willingly went into the gluttony/binge eating with the way I loved food. Also I have to admit and confess that I still love food. The only hope for me is if You take this desire away from my heart. Help me to desire You more than my necessary food.

There are so many suffering from such hardships, struggles, even persecutions, and yet, I’m asking forgiveness for my own selfishness. Also I ask for Your help within my eating and to lose this extra weight.

I do want to stay in Your will. It was my greed and selfishness that caused me to overeat to begin with. You delivered me of the excess weight of 90 pounds. Yet, I returned to my binge eating after walking in this deliverance for almost two years.

Lord, can I go back to where I once was? I guess my priorities are still wrong because I’m more focused on my size 10’s instead of my relationship with You. Help me to focus more on You and Your will for each of my days. Change me and make me into what You want me to be, whether it’s the size I am now or back to what I once was.

All I know now Lord, is just make me into what You want me to be, size 10 or not. I give myself to You, do with me what You want. I surrender.

Child, others can lose weight with head knowledge. But you, . . . I demand your heart. It’s time for more surgery, another heart circumcision. I’m going to cut this love of food from your heart. From now on, food will not control you. I’m cutting out this misplace love of food and putting in more love both for Me and for others.

Thank you Lord.

Anticipated New Beginning With Expectation

Posted on by

Lord, is it possible to have a new beginning with You again? Could You forgive me about last nights ice cream? Oh, and the cookies, chips, nuts, and granola bar too. Please forgive me for last night’s binge. And, thank you the scales didn’t go up this morning. That’s a sure miracle. Your mercy amazes me, especially with all my mess-ups. and backsliding.

My friend has been fasting in prayer for her brother who’s sick. She’s lost noticeable weight and looks good too. Yes, I do want to lose more weight, but I also want to maintain the fullness of Your Presence. I want to feel victorious so I can pray without feeling ashamed due to my own sins of gluttony. It’s my desire to make You proud as I eat in submission to Your will. You know what’s best for my body and I trust You. I just have a weakness resisting pleasure food. Help me, allow me to start over again with You.

Child, I’m the God of many second chances. I died so that you (and others too) could be cleansed and delivered from ALL sins. I died so that you could enter into the Almighty Presence of God. None is worthy. No, not one. It’s only because of the price I paid, the shedding of My blood as a sacrifice – the price I gave freely so that you and others could enter in My Presence.

Lord, how can I make You proud?

Love Me, seek Me, and trust Me. Listen and obey, for there is no other way. There’s much truth in that child’s song. Let the little children lead you. Behold, how easily they trust and love. You should do the same. Follow their example. There’s much truth in the saying, “The little children shall lead them.”

Okay Lord, I’ll try. But I need Your guidance. How do You want me to eat so I can be a testimony of Your forgiveness and Your delivering power?  Others who are struggling need to know You can deliver them, especially when what they need is deliverance from their own selves? That’s what causes most of all my problems- self, myself.

Lord, do You want me to eat only two meals a day or just three meals a day, give up all desserts, or just give all my favorite pleasure foods? Do I wait until I am physically hungry to eat? Do I only eat half portions? Should I get hungry and stay hungry?

Yesterday I started out with intentions to eating only two meals. Then I got real hungry and ate past full. Later last night, I rationalized that ice cream could be my third meal. Well, we both know where that led to – another binge. I should have drank something instead.

Now I’m at another bottom with my weight. This is the biggest I’ve since 2014. I want my size 10 pants back. Where do You want me with my eating and my weight? Help me obey You and eat what is good for this body You gave me. I want to become stronger, both physically and spiritually, mentally too.

Child, as You seek My will for your eating, some days you’ll be led to eat only two meals, and some days three meals. Occasionally, I may lead you to eat no meals. Each day will be a new beginning. These new beginnings won’t be the same as a new beginning after a binge, but a new day of learning to trust Me and walking in My will.

I want you to learn how to trust, listen, and then obey as I lead you. With each new day as you practice these skills, You will grow stronger. Again, your focus is not to follow rules, but instead your focus will be to deny yourself and follow Me. I want you to learn how to deny yourself and become stronger in My Presence. When your self is completely defeated, then your victory is achieved. Self is your enemy. You must learn and become efficient in defeating self.

This watermelon weighs 190 pounds. Thank you Lord, that’s more than me!

Thank you Lord for talking with me and giving me Your instructions yet another time in my struggles with this food addiction. I’m amazed over Your mercy and Your love toward me. You have shown me yet another time of mercy.  This I know, I don’t deserve Your love. I can’t earn it, but I want it. Thank you for loving me. Help me to please You in every way that I am or ever will be.

Embarrassed, Feeling Weak & Defeated, Just A Mess

Posted on by

Embarrassed and weak, I’m here before You Lord with my head down in shame.  Not only did I respond incorrectly, but now I see how weak I really am. In fact self-disappointment consumes me. At this time I feel tired, worn out, and just exhausted. I feel beaten up and defeated in my struggle to overcome this addiction. Overall I feel like a wet dishrag. Your love is my only hope.

Child, just go forth one step at a time. Put one foot down and go forward. Look to Me and I will lead you.

Lord, I’m at one of those places- a stopping place. For now I’m not sure where to go or what to do? All looks grim and hopeless.

Child, how many times have I told you this? “Don’t look at what you see, instead look at Me.”

Child, tiredness never affects Me. Therefore I always keep on working all things out. You may be down in defeat, but I’m still working behind the scenes. So I’ll repeat this to you again, “Don’t look at what you see, instead look at Me.”

Lord, I have failed so much. Given that I’m standing here in all my failures embarrassed before You. How can I start over with You again?

Child, I am the God of second chances. I arranged for you and many others a second chance for eternity. Now come into My arms. Allow Me to hold you, to love you just as you are. I know you’re full of flaws and failures. I know you can’t save yourself, not even from yourself. That’s why I came to save those who will accept My love.

TRUST ME, for I can create beauty even out of the broken and damaged.

For nothing is impossible with God. Luke 1:37

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

Screaming At The Scales

Posted on by

Lord, I’m looking at theses scales and they aren’t going down. I know I’ve messed up a lot, but I’m not eating after supper. I don’t understand. Ahhhhh!

Child, you’re looking at what you see, . . numbers on your scales. I want you to look to Me, not what you see.

As you look to Me, you will be rewarded. As you learn, uh . . . relearn surrender and obedience, then you will be rewarded.

Don’t judge your victories by numbers you see on a box. How many times have I told you this before? As you surrender your will in obedience to Me, then you will be victorious.

It goes against all mankind’s logic that surrender and obedience would bring victory, but I am the Almighty. Mankind’s logic is nothing to Me. My knowledge is incomprehensible to humans.

Your job is to trust Me. “Trust and obey, for there is no other way” as the little song goes. There is much truth in children’s little songs. I value hearing the children sing to Me. I look on them with My heart full of love and pride just as their parents and grandparents, even more so.

Lord, what do You want me to do?

Trust Me. Hunger for Me and I will feed you.

Lord, show me how, what, when, and where. Direct me so that I please You and make You proud. Lord, I want to eat at Your table.

Child, you will.

Lord, Would You Give Me A Word For This Year Of 2016?

Posted on by

The following word was written last January 2016 and never published. It continues as an appropriate word for this new year of 2017. Think I’ll print it and keep it in my Bible.

Last year (2016) I made a lot of bad decisions, lost my focus, and listened to others with their plans for my success. Notice the line written, “If you listen to others, all will be vanity.”  Consequently most of my decisions ended up as vanity. These wrong decisions resulted in unnecessary expenses on my charge card as I tried to buy my way to success which in turn caused an unfair burden on Hubby. I greatly regret this and now my charge card is overweight.

Most importantly, I missed God’s mark for 2016. This is my greatest regret of 2016, missing God’s perfect plan. It seems I had His permissive will, but that’s not the same as His perfect will. This year, 2017, I’m seeking His perfect will. How about you? What are you seeking?

In conclusion I wished I had kept my eyes on Jesus,  who knows what might have been. Check out the word for 2017. More lessons to learn. . . .

Check out this link,  Lord, Can I Have A Word For 2017? “Trust”

21 Victory Antibiotics – Kill the Virus of Temptation

Posted on by

Here’s 21 Victory Antibiotics to kill virus of Christmas goodies temptations. Use these as needed. You have my permission to share or print. Put them on your refrigerator, on the food pantry door, or even in the car if necessary.

IMG_7194-1There’s an abundance of food temptations this month due to our Christmas celebrations. How do you plan to win over these temptations?

IMG_7196

Remember it’s not about the food, but the birth of Jesus Christ we celebrate. When did we get it so messed up? Was it our food addictions? Just thinking about all these goodies make my mouth water. Other people without food/weight issues make food part of their celebration too. So what do you think? If you have an answer, please let me know.

Victory Antibiotics:

 1. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57

2.  For everyone born of god is victorious and overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has conquered and overcome the world- our [continuing, persistent] faith [in Jesus the Son of God].  1 John 5:4 AMP

3. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

4. For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the work of Your hands. Psalm 92:4

Victory is the defeat of an enemy or opponent. Victory occurs when we gain success in a struggle against some difficulty or some obstacle that is impeding our paths. It is the state of having triumphed. We can triumph in victory over these food temptations. With God’s power, we can win.

5. Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23

6.  . . . If you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. Matthew 17:20

7. I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.     Psalm 32:8

8. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. . . . But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:1, 6

Suppose you stop eating in mid-bite because you realized the food item wasn’t a good choice, that’s victory. If you become full and stop eating even though there’s more left, that’s victory. When you’ve lost the desire for a previously loved food item, so you don’t eat it, that’s major shouting ‘Hallelujah’ victory. Which is more valuable to you, the thrill of victory or excess food?  Victory Blessings

9. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:6

10. You will show me the path of life; in Your Presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11

Surrender to Him, His Presence is the key to victory for He is your victory. Allow God to have total control of your food for He is victory. Remember the child’s song, “Trust and Obey.” Google the lyrics.

11. Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37.

You’re more than a conqueror. Yes, you are. Every time you say “No” to excess food, you put a victory notch in your belt. That’s how temptation works for your victory. Choose to give yourself the gift of victory.

12. For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Romans 14:17

13. Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work. John 4:34

14. He must increase, but I must decrease. John 3:30

15. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. Ephesians 3:20

16. But the Helper, the Holy spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you in all things and bring to your remembrance all things I said to you. John 14:26

17. And being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. Romans 4:21

18. For with God nothing will be impossible. Luke 1:37

19. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. John 8:36

Try this test for your food: Will eating this allow you to continue your victory walk with peace in your heart or will it bring you guilt? If it brings guilt, don’t eat it. Then rejoice and praise god for your victory.

20. “. . . “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6

Your victories cause Him to sing over you.

21. The Lord your god in your midst, the Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17

Now you sing to Him praising Him for your victory. Side benefit, you can’t eat while you’re singing. At least I don’t think so. I know I can’t.  img_7153
