Talking To God

I start each day talking to God about many things. But mostly I talk to Him about my weight struggles, my excessive debt, and the stresses of life. Also I pray for the many needs of others and in general the condition of the world.

Throughout the years I’ve written my prayers. This helped me maintain focus. And it also provided me a release from my stresses. After all, God is a great listener.

To begin with, I’d write my concerns, questions, and then I write His answers to my questions just as they came into my heart..

This blog will contain some of those conversations I’ve had with God about my constant struggle with my weight, my compulsive overeating, and seeking His wisdom concerning my excessive debt.

I’ve gained, lost, and regained over 60 lbs. several times throughout my lifetime. A few years ago, I lost over 90 lbs. just eating the way God instructed me to. Then I gained some of it back. Sigh.

And my debt is embarrassing, I won’t tell you how many times I have paid off debt only to run it back up again.

So now I’m in the process of again surrendering these addictions, both of excess food and accessive use of credit cards to God’s control. Also, I have arranged two accountability partners that I text daily.

Over all, I’m asking God to grant me wisdom and I know He’ll give me the victory. After all, He promises in His Word that if you ask, He will give you more wisdom.

And I certainly need more wisdom. What about you? Could you use more wisdom too?

I believe that God speaks to all of His children in different ways. With me, He speaks both in my heart and in my prayer writings.

If you’ve never experienced God’s Presence, you should just start talking to God for yourself. And if you listen for His voice, He will speak to you too. I highly recommend it for your peace of mind. In fact, God’s Presence brings peace and assurance.

It’s my hope and prayer that my conversations with God will encourage and bless you throughout your own journey. I hope that you’ll start talking to God about your concerns too. He’ll speak to your heart as you seek HIm..

Try Talking To God For Yourself

Therefore I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of My salvation; my God will hear me. Micah 7:7 NKJV

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking. James 1:5 NLT

God’s Mercy – We All Need It

God’s mercy, we all need it, worldwide. At times, it seems as though the world has gone crazy. I don’t understand any of it. Do you?

God's Mercy

All I do know is that we all need God’s mercy. So I’m posting a prayer for all of us. Why not join me in prayer where you are now. Let’s pray together for our world.

Our Prayer:

‭‭‬‬Lord, we need Your mercy.

Provide healing for those who are sick. Also provide comfort and peace to those who have lost loved ones. Bring Your healing power to our lands.

Grant provision for those who have lost jobs due to this CV-19.

In fact Lord, we need Your help, strength, and peace just to get through our daily lives. Everything seems so fearful or despondent for now due to the influence of CV-19.

We hear reports of those who sacrificed unselfishly of themselves to help others. They served in hospitals, or as first responders, or truck drivers to bring our supplies, or as store employees so we could purchase our needs. They are real heroes of this time.

Help the rest of us, who still have our health and homes to get off our duffs and out of the refrigerator. Let us be filled with hope and reach for Your love instead of our cookies and chips.

Help us to reach out to others in need and show them love. Lord, help us to love one another no matter our differences. Help us to forgive each other and forgive ourselves too.

We all need healing.

Lord, we praise you for You are our source for all we need. Cover our lands with healing, hope, and Your love. Lord we all need healing of some kind, either from physical sickness, or emotional despondency.

Our lands need healing. We need leaders who will seek and follow Your will versus their pocketbook. We need leaders who will follow Your agenda versus their own.

Lord we need revival across our lands. But mostly, we need revival in our hearts. Overall, we need Your love and Your forgiveness for our many failures.

Again Lord, we need You and Your mercy. Help us, for we are a stubborn, foolish, and needy people.

Without You, there is no hope. So Lord, fill all of us with Your love so we can minister to one another in love . Thank you for Your mercy and helping us cope with this day.

We praise You for the victory we know You’ve already planned and provided for us. Amen

God's Mercy Feed on God’s Word

Let Us Feed On His Word

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews‬ ‭4:16‬ ‭NLT

. . . Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. . . Matthew 6: 9,10 NKJV

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Psalm 91:1,2 

We all need God’s mercy.  God has the whole world in His hands. And we can trust HIM.

Above All Else, The Way to Find Victory

 

To begin with, one must believe I died just for them, for their personal sins. And that I died so they may live. They must also believe after I spent 3 days in the tomb of death, that I rose again to eternal life. Then they must repent, and ask forgiveness for their sins.  (When you ask, I promise to forgive.) Finally, one must turn away from their sins and surrender their hearts and their lives to Me. Make Me Full

Some people forget this part. They continue on with their sinful life choices, choosing to live for their own selfish pleasures instead of seeking My will for their life.

Some people have the misconception that they can say a few prayerful words, shake a preacher’s hand,  and all is well. They believe the words of that prayer saves them. Not so. 

It’s a total heart and life surrender. It is My Presence within their heart. True repentance is a complete turning away from sins. It’s a total life change.

Prayerful words do not save you. But a real relationship with Me does. One must surrender their heart to ME. It’s all about a relationship with Me. 

None Are Excluded From His Love

I love ALL and exclude none from My love. But some exclude Me for they choose their own fleshly self-pleasures over My love. They reject My plan for their life and My love for them. They reject Me. Their life choices and rejection of My love for them grieves My heart for I know what they could have- eternal life and complete peace, My peace.

I long for My children to accept My love. But I will never force My love on anyone. Although I am the eternal, omnipotent God, I allow My children free will to choose whether to accept My love for them or not.

Those who choose My love will live forever in My love. Those who reject My love will forever be in rejection. I call to them, but they close their ears to My voice.

They chose eternal damnation. They determined the consequences of their life choices. 

But now I reach out to offer My love to you. What do you choose?

Within your love, Lord, I choose You. I want Your love and I want Your will in my life. So make me full of Your Presence, and Your Holy Spirit.

I Want Your Heart

I want your heart, Child

But Lord, what do You mean? I gave You my heart long ago.

Furthermore, I want your love, your heart, your soul, and your mind. 

Lord, I know You love me just as I am. So help me love You as You desire. I’m here ready to listen. I don’t have to follow my usual morning routine. As a matter of fact, I have time to listen right now. So what would You like to talk about? Is it that person? How about that event on the news? So what do You want to talk about?

Child, I want to talk about you.

Lord, what? What about me?

I want your heart. 

Lord, You know, within myself I’m not capable of loving You like You want me to. But would You help me? I am willing. Help me love You as You deserve. I give myself to thee. Do with me as You wish.

Child, don’t be afraid for it is I. And I don’t wish you harm for I have a hope and a future for you, plans to prosper you, not to harm you. 

Okay Lord, just help me please You in all I do and say. Help me to love You as You wish.

Child, I am here. 

Lord, what do You want from me?

I want to be your closest friend, your best friend, the one you confide in, the one you consult, the one you ask opinions of, the one you share your joys with, and the one you share your secrets with. I want more than just your prayer list. I’m not Santa Claus. I’m the One who loves you more than any other. And I desire to be your everything. 

Okay Lord, I want You as my best and closest friend too. Forgive me for only going to You with my prayer list, my “to do” list for You. Help me to make You my everything, my all, my closest ally. Let me find more pleasure in Your Presence versus my food pleasures, entertainment pleasures,  more than all my stuff, and even more than my family and friends.  Lord, You be my greatest pleasure and my everything. Help me to love You as You desire. You be the “head” of all my life. Help me to make You first in all and everything in my life.

Child, I want to be more than a way to reach your goals and your dreams. I want your heart and all your love. 

Of course Lord, I love You. Help me to love You as You long for me to. Overall. I want to please You with all that I am or will ever be. Thank you for loving me.

Fasting the News

img_2319Lord, I heard that others are fasting 40 days for our nation and the upcoming election. They’ll begin on September 30th and fast until November 8th. Should I fast too? If so, what kind of fasting would You have me do? I already cut my food portions in half. Do I give up desserts? Do I fast one meal a day? What kind of fasting should I do?

I have a trip planned during part of this time period. Food is a major part of this trip and I don’t want to ruin it for others traveling with me. I also don’t want them to know I’m fasting. It’s bad enough my friends watch as I cut my food in half. Then they ask if I think they should do the same. Lord, I can’t tell them how to eat. Only You can.

But what should I do about this fasting?

Do I give up television? I can do that easy. Television’s boring, although I do like my news station. I know I’ve become a news junkie with three news apps on my cell phone. I check them throughout the day and get new updates. I especially want to know about the events of this upcoming election.

But Lord, what about fasting in prayer for this nation? What would You have me to fast? What would keep me focused on prayer for this nation?

My child, . . .  you could fast the News.

Yes, that a good idea. It would improve your attitude. I’ve listened to you complaining about different news events.  I know of your constant worries over the future. Freeing your ears would eliminate your fears.

Oh Lord . . sigh. . . I’d rather give up desserts.

I don’t think I can do this. It’s just too hard. It’s an Election year!

What about Hubby? He turns on the news first thing every morning. He’s worse than me. Would you have me leave the room when he turns it on? What would that do for our marriage? I wouldn’t even be able to discuss current events with him. What would You have me do?

img_9148My child, stay in the room with him. But read your Bible, write, or pray while he’s watching the news. The people I’ve placed in your life need prayers and the needs are great.

If he discusses news with you, just listen. He will enjoy you listening. After all, you do that so little with him.

You allow the News to influence your mood for the day and you worry so much about the future. Don’t you know yet that I, the Lord and King, hold the future in My hand?

What about my blog or Facebook? Lord, are You sure You want me to fast the News? Desserts would be easier and others wouldn’t notice. Giving up the news is too hard.

My child on your trip others would notice. Besides do you think watching the news will help you make a difference in the world?

No Lord.

I guess.

You know it would. Do you trust Me?

Lord, You know I trust You.

  Do you think the world will survive without you watching every event on your television?

My child, I’ve already told you who will be the winner of this election- I AM. It doesn’t matter who sits in that chair, I am the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. I am the Winner. I am the One in charge.
