Lord, can you tell me why I lose three pounds when I go the entire week waiting until the appointed time to weigh and then I stay the same weight on the week that I weigh myself throughout the week?
(My child, when you decide to wait until the appointed time to weigh, your focus is on ‘obedience’. You obey Me when you choose to wait to weigh until I say so. You obey Me when you eat according to My plan. You obey Me when you chose to eat no more than necessary, when you drink water as I instruct you, and when you go walking as I lead you. Your concentration is on ‘obedience’, rather than the numbers on that scale. My child, I always reward ‘obedience’!
On the other hand, when you decide to weigh yourself throughout the week your focus is not on ‘My’ plans for you; but rather, your focus is on that ‘number’ instead. This leads to your frustration, your anger at the scales, and your feelings of being deprived. Occasionally that ‘number’ on the scale resulted in self-indulgence as you gave yourself permission to consume more food just for pleasure of eating, or you overindulged in overeating to console your self-pity. Either way this successful walk of obedience became a struggle of frustration.
Isn’t it better, My child, to walk in obedience to Me? You surrender your choices to Me, your food amounts, your water amounts, and your walks in prayer and praise. Answer Me. Was this past week more peaceful for you as you focused on ‘obedience’ ?)
(That is because You completely surrendered to Me in obedience and placed all the responsibility on My shoulders. I took your burden. You didn’t have to think or plan, you just had to focus on obedience. My child, I am teaching you that obedience and surrender are the keys to success. When My children give Me control over their lives, they give Me the burden of responsibility. If they only knew how freeing this would be, they would be eager to surrender themselves to My will!
This is the entire concept of “My yoke is easy, My burden is light”. Your peace is not determined by a number on a box, instead what determines your peace is the giving of yourself to your “Higher Power”- ME!)
Yes Sir! You are my peace, thank you Lord!
— I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Psalm 32:8 NKJV
— “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 NKJV
