“Lord, I want to do Your will! Thank you for helping me yesterday, helping me not get that extra piece of chicken and that second piece of cake. Thank you Lord, for only You could stop me from eating too much. Thank you for convicting me as soon as the food was in my hand. Because of Your conviction I dropped the chicken and put the second piece of cake back, thank you Lord.
Now this morning Lord, my reward is a lower number on the scales. Last night, before I went to bed the scales were even lower than they were yesterday morning. Thank you Lord! Teach me how to pray so that it will benefit others.”
Galatians 2:6 NKJV : But from those who seemed to be something- whatever they were, it makes no difference to me; God shows no personal favoritism to no man- for those who seemed to be something added nothing to me.
“Thank you Lord for showing no favoritism for I certainly don’t deserve any special consideration by You. Thank you for loving me! I am so amazed that You would love me.”
Galatians 5:1 NKJV: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
“Lord, I do not want bondage to ‘diets’ or to ‘overeating’. It was nice to enjoy a ‘small’ piece of birthday cake for my Dad’s birthday. Thank you for this small joy and yet I lost weight! Wow! Previously in my life I would follow a strict regiment of eating rules and only low-calorie foods to my misery, but You have given me freedom to enjoy what I do eat! Thank you Lord!”
