Break Free

Break free
Lord, is it possible to break free? (Picture by Deborah Crocker)

Lord, is it possible to break free from this stronghold that has me defeated?

Child, do you believe I can deliver you?

Yes Sir. I do believe You can.

Then Child, it is so. It is possible. In fact, all things are possible.

But what if I told you this kind, these chains of addiction, will require both prayer and fasting to be defeated?

I hear You Lord.

Child, are you willing to fast to break free of this bondage of addiction?

Yes Lord.

In fact My Child, you’ve been feeding this addiction. But now, you must not feed it.

Lord, I’m going to fast today to break free from these bonds, this yoke of oppression that has me so defeated.

Break free
Trust Me Child, Because today is a day of victory for you. (picture by Deborah Crocker)

I want victory in my life. You have assured me of victory over and over again. But yet, everyday I ran to my pleasures, defeated before You.

Every morning I asked for forgiveness and began each new day with a new resolve. But by evening, I had backslid into my old ways again.

So Lord, . . . how long will I be required to fast?

My Child, it doesn’t matter how long or in what way. But what does matter is a submissive heart before Me, seeking My will in all things.

Okay Lord, I accept Your challenge. Lead me to a fast of obedience, according to Your will. After all, what I do want is more of  is Your Presence.

Today, I’m going to fast before You, seek Your Presence throughout my day, and defeat this enemy stonghold that so easily has defeated me.  And I will emerge from this battle victorious.

Today is a day of victory. Because I will have “Victory in Jesus.”

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9: 23

Help me, O Lord my God! Oh, save me according to Your mercy, that they may know that this is Your hand — that You, Lord, have done it! Psalms 109: 26-27

Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to losse the bonds of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?      Isaiah 58: 6

“Now therefore,” says the Lord, “Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning.” So rend your hearts, and not your garments; return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm. . .                                                              Who knows if He will turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind Him  . . .            Joel 2:13-14 NKJV
