Break This Cycle

So Lord, what can I do to break this cycle of losing weight, binge eat, gaining weight, experience sorrow, repent, lose weight, binge, and repeat again?

Child, I’ll break this cycle for you.

But Lord, how? What can I do?

First, come to Me. Then follow My instructions.

But Lord, how? I’ve tried. At least I think I’ve tried. First comes a roadblock. Then it seems I gain weight for no reason. Finally I give up and binge in frustration. Overall I feel trapped in repeat and repeat. So Lord, how do I break free?

Through My blood.

But Lord, how?

Accept it. Just accept it. After all, you are saved by grace, not your works.

But Lord, I read, “Work out your own salvation.” So how can I lose weight without some type of work, diet and exercise? Do I just say, “The Lord delivered me from overeating and being overweight?”

A while back I could say that, but it was after I lost 90 pounds. So what now? I’m still looking at the scales and what they say.

Child, how many times have I told you? “Don’t look at what you see. Instead look to Me.”

Lord, help my unbelief for I feel lost and confused. Faith without works in dead. So don’t I have to do some kind of work, diet and exercise, to lose weight?

Child. it is faith that enables one to complete works. Faith comes before works, not after.

Well Lord, then I need the right kind of faith. Help my unbelief. Increase my faith. Increase my strength to defeat this flesh that so easily defeats me.

Let the weak say I am strong.

So Lord, am I just to say, “I am strong,” even though I see how weak I am?

Don’t look at what you see. Look at Me.

Lord, I’m confused. Help me understand. I’m sick of repeat and repeat. I want to break this cycle.

I came to heal the sick, save the lost, restore the broken, and set all free from bondage.

Lord, I’m stuck in this bondage of repeat and repeat, sins of my flesh. Set me free, please.

Child, I already have.

What?

I already have. You only have to believe, and accept it. Rise up and walk. Take up your bed. Pick up your burden and walk in your new freedom.

But Lord, how?

Yours is not to question, only believe, and go forth in the victory I have already given you.

But Lord, how?

Just open your hand and receive it for I have freely given it to you.

Lord, how?

Believe.

Lord, remove this desire from my heart for pleasure food.

Done.

But Lord, how?

Child, I said it is done. Now quit questioning My words and go forth. After all, when someone gives you a gift, do you ask them how? No, you say thank you. Now go forth in the victory I have already prepared for you. Eat the fruits of My labor.

But Lord?

Trust and obey for there is no other way. Trust and obey.

Yes Sir. Help me to trust and obey.

Done. Now get up and go forth in your victory. In fact I’ve already prepared it for you.

Thank you Lord.
