Lord, HELP! HELP! HELP! I feel so guilty for whining about this, I wish I were stronger!
(You will be, My child! This is why you are in training now! Most new recruits cry in boot camp! You are in boot camp now, My child! This is your boot camp!)
But Lord, my heart is filling with resentment! They don’t even have a clue and they are certainly no comfort either!
(My child, they have their own boot camp. This one is yours, I am training you for My purposes and My plan. I created this boot camp just for you, to make you stronger and to help you overcome.)
Lord, I’m sorry that I am letting You down with my attitude.
(My child, I am going to lift you up!)
Lord, I’m sorry that I complain.
(My child, talk to Me instead of them. I understand, I have compassion, I love you and I love them too, but talk to Me first!)
I know You do! But Lord, just help me to cope with this! I want to make You proud and I feel like I am failing You now with my negative attitude!
(My child, I am proud of you! Through this path, you are learning strength, patience, endurance, and love for others, even when they are not pleasing to you. In this boot camp, you are learning My traits.)
But Lord, I am not handling this very well, and yesterday I wanted to eat the house down! I had no fresh word from You, and I had no weight loss this week! I just want to scream, give up and eat everything!
(My child, don’t give up, keep it up! Everyday that you choose not to overeat is a success! Don’t judge your success by a number on a scale. Instead, judge your success by your eating in My Presence with submission to My will.)
But Lord, I want success on the scales too! When I let go of the foods that I love, I want success! I want my body to grow smaller!
(My child, your body is growing smaller and stronger too! You feel it everyday yourself!)
Yes Lord, I do feel it. I know I am getting stronger physically.
(Your spirit is getting stronger too! With each test, whether it is saying ‘No’ to overindulgence or maintaining your patience with another, your spirit is getting stronger. The chocolate cake on the counter that is too old to eat now is a symbol of your new strength. This cake represents success! Instead of eating it in defeat, it has now become your trophy, a trophy of success! My child, don’t let the numbers on a box that you stand on determine your feelings of accomplishment or your outlook for the day.
Yesterday, you tried to drink more water. That’s good, but make sure you fill yourself with My living water. Yesterday, you went for a walk. That’s good, but focus more on your walk with Me. As you focus more on My Presence and commune with Me, you will grow stronger both physically and spiritually.
Good soldiers are not easily defeated by food, lack of food, or the opinion of others. They perform according to their training, not according to the conditions of comfort or the opinions of their peers. A good soldier focuses on pleasing the commander instead! My child, I am training you to be a good soldier. I am proud of you now, but when this training period is complete, I will be full of pride over the success of My child, the “Strong Soldier”! Now go forth in victory, for you are on the path of victory! I have chosen this way for you, therefore rejoice in your victory and My love for you. Rejoice My child, for I AM your victory!)
– – – Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory. While we do not look at things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18 NKJV
– – – “The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but is you forsake Him, He will forsake you. . . . . But when in their trouble they turned to the Lord God of Israel, and sought Him, He was found by them. . . . . . But you, be strong and do not let your hands be weak, for your work shall be rewarded. 2 Chronicles 15:2,4,7 NKJV
