Screaming At The Scales

Posted on by

Lord, I’m looking at theses scales and they aren’t going down. I know I’ve messed up a lot, but I’m not eating after supper. I don’t understand. Ahhhhh!

Child, you’re looking at what you see, . . numbers on your scales. I want you to look to Me, not what you see.

As you look to Me, you will be rewarded. As you learn, uh . . . relearn surrender and obedience, then you will be rewarded.

Don’t judge your victories by numbers you see on a box. How many times have I told you this before? As you surrender your will in obedience to Me, then you will be victorious.

It goes against all mankind’s logic that surrender and obedience would bring victory, but I am the Almighty. Mankind’s logic is nothing to Me. My knowledge is incomprehensible to humans.

Your job is to trust Me. “Trust and obey, for there is no other way” as the little song goes. There is much truth in children’s little songs. I value hearing the children sing to Me. I look on them with My heart full of love and pride just as their parents and grandparents, even more so.

Lord, what do You want me to do?

Trust Me. Hunger for Me and I will feed you.

Lord, show me how, what, when, and where. Direct me so that I please You and make You proud. Lord, I want to eat at Your table.

Child, you will.

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18

But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God. Luke 4:4

Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endured to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him. John 6:27

And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. John 6:35

80 POUNDS GONE, STRESSFREE EATING

IMG_5110 (Note: After reading a post from http://www.365fitjournal.wordpress.com, I realized this way of eating is stress-free. I haven’t thought about it. Yes, this is stress-free eating. Notice I said eating, not dieting. Thank you 365fitjournal for helping me see this. -She’s eating the same as I am. Check out her blog.)

80 pounds gone! Victory! How can this be? I’m eating regular food. I’m not dieting at all.

— Lord, I’m so amazed at what You’ve done.  I stood on the scales last Sunday and had a total weight loss of 80 pounds. You created this miracle in my life. Four years ago, even two years ago, I never thought this was possible.

For the past 41 years, I’ve struggled with my excess weight and dieting.  I’ve experienced so many diet failures that I developed a failure complex and considered myself a total failure at life. Now I’m free and I know I’m not a failure. Continue reading

MR. POSSUM IS BEAUTIFUL, YOU TOO

Picture from “Google”. The possum in the story never came back. I hurt his feelings.

Last night, I looked out the back door, stepped forward, then backward to look again. What is that? I stared in amazement. It’s a possum, eating my cat’s leftovers.       I opened the door and turned on the light to get a closer look. His snout is long  and pointy, his hair looks greasy and his tail looks scraggly with a kink . For a few minutes, he ignored me as he continued to eat without looking up.

I yelled, “Get away, get out of here.” He looked at me, slowly slunk under the lounge chair to hide and waited. I yell, “You’re ugly, you know that. Get out of here.” He slowly wobbled under another chair. I continued,  “You’re so ugly. Do you even know how ugly you are?” He hung his head as he slunk toward the end of the patio. I wonder if he understood what I said. Then I shut the door without bothering to see where he went. I guess he’ll finish the cat food after I turn the light out.

TWO KEYS TO VICTORY!

English: Sign for the Cross Keys A common sign in Christian heraldry, referring to St Peter, to whom Jesus said: ‘I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven’. The papal arms show show crossed keys, and they occur again in the arms of various bishops. (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Lord Jesus, here I am again seeking Your guidance for this day. Thank you for yesterday being successful. Lord, I pray that Your “will” is complete in our lives today. Guide us all to Your will.

—- I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye. Psalm 32:8 NKJV

Forgive me Lord, for being so easily sidetracked.

(Yes My child, I am just waiting here for you.)

Forgive me, Lord.

—- And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness…”    2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV

(This is for you too, My child. My grace is sufficient for you and My strength will increase within you as you surrender your weakness to Me and seek My will. Obey Me in all things and I will continue to lead you.)..

.. . . . Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.          2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV

(It is through complete surrender and obedience that allows Me to increase My power in your life.)

. . . . . For when I am weak, then I am strong.       2 Corinthians 12:10 NKJV

( My child, when you admit your weaknesses and surrender your life completely to Me without reservations, then I will increase My strength within your soul. Focus on surrender, for it is one key to victory! Surrender and obedience are two keys that bring complete victory.)

—- And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.     Matthew 16:19 NKJV

(Two of those “kingdom keys”, the first of My keys, are surrender and obedience. As you gain experience in the complete use of these two keys, then you will be given more keys as you progress toward your final victory!)

Thanks you Lord, I praise thee, for granting me the use of these two keys of Your kingdom. Help me to use them wisely and completely with the boundaries of Your will.

—- Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”      Matthew 16:24 NKJV

(Surrender and obedience are your keys to your victory, My child.)

—-“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?  For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels and then He will reward each according to his works.”         Matthew 16:25-27 NKJV

(My child, your “work” is to completely  surrender your will  and keep up obedience to My will.  As you give up your “will ” to Me, I will reward you with total and complete victory. So, stay focused on these two goals,  “surrender and obedience” for there is your victory!)

Yes Sir!
