THE GLUTTONY MONSTER! (Writing from the past:)

IMG_1881 Good Morning Lord! Will You give me another chance?

(My child, I am the God of second chances!)

Lord, I don’t even know where to start!

(Start with Me, My child!)

Okay Lord, what is  first?

— So He said to them, “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”     Mark 9:29 NKJV

Lord, sometimes I do feel like a “gluttony monster” attacks me daily especially in the evening. When I finally get to relax, here comes the “gluttony monster” and then I eat and eat until I am miserable and bloated. Sometimes he shows up just as I am going to bed. It doesn’t matter what type of food it is! I just eat blindly without any consideration! Sometimes the “gluttony monster” shows up just as I am getting into bed, then I grab food to eat in bed. I know better, but I have continuously done this over and over, even when I don’t want to! Why? When will it stop? Will it ever stop? I have struggled with this all my life! Lord, help me!

— I don’t really understand myself, for I want to do what is right, but I don’t do it. Instead, I do what I hate. But if  I know that what I am doing is wrong, this shows that I agree that the law is good. So I am not the one doing wrong; it is sin living in me that does it.       Romans 7:15-17 NLT

(My child, there is a “monster” assigned to you. His purpose is to keep you weak and defeated, to make you guilt ridden with shame and embarrassment.)

Well Lord, it’s working! I am defeated, I am guilty,  ashamed, and embarrassed!

(My child, I have come to set you free!)

But Lord, how?

(Well, first I shed My life blood so that you could have life-abundant life, not a defeated life! Know this, My child.)

— He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins.           Colossians 1 :13 NKJV

–The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.      John 10 :10 NKJV

Alright Lord, what do I do first?

(Give yourself to Me, My child. Give yourself to Me.)

—- And so dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice – the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him.       Romans 12:1 NLT

Alright Lord, Here I am. I give myself to You, all  2– pounds of me, all the dimples, all the rolls, and all the cellulite too! I give You my shame, my embarrassment, and all my sins, especially the sins of gluttony. You can have it all! I only wish I was able to give You something that was worthy!

—- For troubles surround me – too many to count!  My sins pile up so high I can’t see my way out. They outnumber the hairs on my head. I have lost all courage.    Psalm 40:12 NLT

(My child, the price of My blood makes you worthy.)

But Lord, why would You want me?

(Because My child, you are Mine! I bought you with My blood!)

But why Lord, why?

(Because I love you, that’s why!)

Alright Lord, take me, I give myself to You. Do with me as You will!

(Alright My child, the next step is to deny yourself eating extra food for pleasure. This will break the power of the “gluttony monster”.)

— Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.     Matthew 16:24 NKJV

But Lord, the “gluttony monster” is stronger than me! I have no strength to resist his temptations. That is how I got this way. . . no strength to resist at all!

— Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.        James 4:7-8 NKJV

—- Look to Me, and be saved, all you ends of the earth!  For I am God, and there is no other.                    Isaiah 45:22 NKJV

(My child, I AM your strength! your strength!)

—- And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you , for My strength is made perfect in weakness”  . . . . .   2 Corinthians 12 :9 NKJV

[[[[        I wrote this after the feeding binge of Thanksgiving 2012. Praise God, I am now delivered! Praise God, I have lost 35 pounds so far! And I lost two of those pounds during Thanksgiving holidays of 2013! My sister-in-law told me that no one loses weight during the holidays! But praise God, I am now delivered!   ]]]]
