I’ve lost 20 pounds since December 9th, day of foot surgery. It’s now almost 4 months later and I’ve lost 20 pounds. I’m so excited!

After foot surgery, I knew I’d be confined to my lazy boy for 2 months. Also I knew if I ate as much as I wanted I wouldn’t be able to get out of my chair. So I decided I’d go back to the most successful and easiest weight loss plan ever, “The God Plan”.
This is the easiest weight loss ever. So it took me four months to lose 20 pounds. That’s better than gaining 20 pounds I think. What do you think?
At least once a week, Hubby and I go out to eat. So I thought you might enjoy seeing some examples of how I handle eating out on “The God Plan”.

Above is how I ate at the Chinese buffet. I love egg drop soup. So it took up half the plate. Good. Cuts down on what I eat. And I left that meal very satisfied, on the edge of feeling full, not bloated.

Above is a picture of how I eat mexican food. This meal is Quesadilla Mexicana. The quesadilla is filled with steak strips, onions, and refried beans. Then it comes a side salad of lettuce and tomato. Also it comes with sour cream.
I always cut the quesadilla in half and take it home for another meal later. So I get to enjoy this meal twice for the one price. I like that. But I do eat all the salad.
Usually I pour the salsa on top of my salad. In fact I usually pour salsa all over everything. Isn’t that why we go to Mexican restaurants, the salsa?
In Mexican restaurants, the most dangerous thing is the taco chips. So be extremely careful with these chips. I usually eat only four with lots of salsa. Occasionally I may eat six chips.
But since I know I’ll be wearing these chips on my hips, I’m very cautious. Also since most mexican restaurants provide your own individual salsa bowl, it’s ok to double-dip. And I do love these chips. So I do double dip with each bite.

Above is my meal of a side salad and bowl of gumbo. Since both of these are smaller servings, I ate both. And there’s nothing to take home.
The picture below is how I ate at Golden Coral, an ‘all you can eat’ buffet. If you notice, my soup bowl took up half my plate. Then I filled up the rest on salad. But since I love fried chicken, I got a thigh piece. The inner check inside that God sent impressed me to pull the skin off first and then eat the rest.

Then for dessert, I chose ice cream and a half a piece of pie. I literally cut their serving of pie in half before putting it on my plate. And I also got a small spoonful of a cake with icing. I do love icing.
Then I ended up leaving part of the pie. And I didn’t eat all the ice cream either. It felt victorious as I left some to melt in the bowl.
Another trick I’m doing with desserts is I’m now getting a piece of pecan pie and just eating the top off with the pecans. I love pecans, don’t you? But I always leave some of the ice cream so I can have victory over the ice cream.
You may think I am being wasteful by leaving some of the ice cream to melt. You have no idea how many times I have binged on ice cream. In my past I have eaten ice cream until I ended up sick and bloated. So for me, it’s a major victory leaving some of it to melt. It makes me feel stronger.

Below is what I took home from a seafood restaurant to eat later. Yes, I know, it’s all fried. So before I eat anything I divide it in half to take it home for later. The little bowl contains gumbo with no rice.
I always order two gumbos with no rice, one to eat now and one to take home. You save calories and also you get more of the good stuff, seafood. I’m not willing to pay a high price for rice when I can have good seafood.

I wanted you to see how I usually eat when I go out to restaurants. And I always plan to bring half my meal home to eat later. That way I get two meals for the price of one.
Also I weigh myself every day. That way I know what foods affect my weight. That’s how I knew to only eat 4-6 taco chips in our favorite Mexican restaurant. Because I’ve learned exactly what foods my body can tolerate without weight gain.
In addition I’ve also learned you can eat heavy, calorie-laden foods earlier in the day and it won’t affect your weight so much. But you can eat green beans after 7 p.m.. and you’ll wear them on your hips the next day. So try not to eat after 7 p.m.
Overall, the most important thing you can do to lose weight is pray first. Pray before eating or even looking at a menu. And pray as you look over all those choices at the ‘all you can eat’ at the buffet. Pray and ask God for His help, His wisdom, and His strength. I promise He will help you.
Then after you pray, pay attention to those inner checks inside your head. “Don’t get that. Just get a small portion, enjoy it and leave the rest. You are full now, so stop eating. Let it go.” Those are all inner checks that God sends to guide you. He’s guiding you. So listen and obey His guidance.
Have you heard the child’s song, “Trust and obey, for there is no other way. but to trust and obey”. This is, my friend, is the secret key to your success and victory. So trust and obey God as He leads you. He will lead you to your victory.
After all, He’s already designed your victory for you. So trust and obey. I lost 20 pounds by seeking God’s help, listening to the inner checks He sends, and following His guidance. Trust and obey.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13
Jesus said to him, “If you believe, all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23
For assuredly, i say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. mark 11:23, 24.
