Lord, last night I had a choice; go out to eat or stay home, order pizza, and watch a movie. I was so tired, so I ordered the pizza and settled down to watch the movie. I ended up eating too much and the movie was full of profanity and disappointing. If I had gone out to eat, at least we would have had good conversation with a good meal. Lord, I followed Your instructions about eating only a half of my meal. I ate only one slice of pizza, but I lost it over the apple desert. I fixed a large serving with ice cream on top, but as I ate this I began to feel guilty. I left about a third of it because I was so overwhelmed with guilt. It was such a struggle to let it go. Now I realize what a hold deserts have on me. I do love them so! Lord, help me to let go! Lord, help me to love You more than deserts. Do You want me to start over, back to Day one? Do You want me to give up my deserts as well since it was such a struggle last night?
(My child, do not start over again. The point of eating only half meals is not legalism, but rather to break this stronghold on your life. You now see this how this stronghold works. I want to change your heart. “Create in me a pure heart, O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me.” [Psalm 51:10] This has been your prayer for many years My child. I am now answering your prayer. As your eyes open to the truth, your heart is purifying and your spirit is becoming stronger and wiser. For the most benefit, some prayers get answered through a process; this is one that requires process. It is true that I have forgiven your sins and I dwell within the heart of your spirit, but My child we both know that there are also others [wrong desires, motives, thoughts, strongholds, behaviors, and yes, even generational curses] within your heart as well. I have taken up residence within our heart and I am in the process of cleaning out My temple. It angers Me to behold the filthiness within My house. My child, I want to purify you.
As for the movie you watched, full of profanity, stop feeding your spirit with this filth. Just as you get frustrated when you clean your home and someone else trashes what you have worked so hard to clean, so do I. My child, when you feed your spirit trash, you are messing up My house as fast as I can purify and clean it. You have heard the words, “Garbage in, garbage out.” When you feed your spirit garbage, it will reflect garbage. When you feed your spirit purity, you will reflect purity. My child, you have asked that you reflect My Presence to others so that they may see and also want the filling of My Spirit, but I ask you now, “How can you reflect My Spirit when you have filled your spirit with that which is trash? My child, fill your spirit that which is truth, noble, right, pure, love, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. These characteristics are what I like to decorate the walls of My House. You like to behold beautiful decorations within your home, so do I. You will not allow ugliness and hideous decorations within your house, neither will I.
— Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy- meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8 NKJV
— Then He taught, saying to them, “Is it not written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations? but you have made it a den of thieves.” Mark 11:17 NKJV
— Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. I Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV
