DO NOT BE AFRAID, FOR I AM WITH YOU!

Good morning Lord! It’s Monday, my weigh-in day, but now I don’t know exactly when to weigh in? I woke up so early this morning, I don’t know what to do? It is now around 3:30 a.m. and I always weigh right after I get up!  I can’t go back to bed now because I am completely awake! Maybe this early morning would just be a good opportunity to spend more quality time with You? But if I drink my coffee now and then wait to weigh myself  later in the day, it will show a weight gain. Oh Lord, what do I do now? When do I weigh?

(Don’t drink your coffee now, just wait to weigh yourself at 4:00a.m. and then you can drink your coffee.)

But Lord, I am so afraid! What if the scales show a weight gain? What will I do, how will I feel then? Will I just give up, or will I just start over? Oh Lord, what will I do?

(My child, My child, . . . why are you so afraid of a pair of scales? Do not be afraid, for I am with you! I will always love you no matter what the scales say!)

— For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.  II Timothy 1:7 NLT

— Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced His perfect love.               I John 4:18 NLT

Lord, I know that I should have drunk more water last night! Instead, I ate too many “sugar-free” popsicles. It was just because I wanted to eat more of something, anything! They are “sugar-free” so I thought it would be okay, but what if I am gaining weight from those “sugar-free” popsicles?  And the other day Lord, I messed up! Did that cause me to gain weight? Oh Lord, what will I do if the scales show a weight gain? How will I handle it?

(Oh My child, . . . do  not be afraid, for I am with you! Yes, too much of “anything” is not good for you. Yes, it would have helped you to drink more water instead of eating the popsicles. But My child, even too much water is not beneficial. What is indeed beneficial for you is spending more time with Me, in My Presence! And we have already talked about that “mess up”, why do you want to go back to  self condemnation? You asked for forgiveness then, and you have walked in obedience since. My child, no matter what the scales say, know that I will love you! I will always love you!)

[Weighed myself at 4:00a.m.]

Oh, wow! Thank you Lord for another two pounds lost! Wow, thank you! I ‘m so excited, so happy,  and so relieved, thank you Lord!

(See My child,  didn’t I tell you, “Have no fear, for I am with you”?  Now stay in My Presence and I will indeed bring you victory!)

Oh yes Sir! I do want victory! I also want the “sweetness” of Your Presence!

— This is My command-be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid or discouraged. For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.       Joshua 1:9 NIV

— For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. I John 5:4 NLT
