Lord, I read my food journal and realized I had peach cobbler with ice cream without thinking. It was only two spoonful’s, but none the less it was dessert. I thought I had made it 9 days without desserts. Lost my victory.
My child, you sought My will in the beginning. Then you returned to eating on automatic. You did well with the brownies. You prayed and asked for help to resist them. Then you rejoiced at being able to walk away. This was a victory of freedom for you. The brownies called on your heart, but I gave you strength and victory as you walked away.
The focus is not to give you rules to follow, the focus is to help you deny yourself, pick up your cross, and follow Me.
Lord, I realized others are making great sacrifices and suffering intensely. I’m struggling with putting down desserts. Change my heart and make it Yours.
My child, the way to break a stronghold is to say no to it. Do you want total freedom in victory or partial freedom?
Oh Lord, I want total freedom.
Then say no to what defeats you. Say yes to your victory.
Yes Sir. I want victory and I want Your Presence with me. Don’t let me lose Your Presence especially over desserts. I feel like such a wimp.
Before this is over you will be a giant of a soldier marching forth in total victory.
Lord, Your mighty warriors in the Bible fought great battles. I’m fighting desserts. It seems so wimpy.
One victory leads to another. You grow into a mighty warrior by gaining victories, one at a time. Small victories lead to great victories. You’re in training now. Don’t belittle these small victories. Greater victories are coming. But know that it is greater battles that bring forth the greater victories. Instead of focusing on the immense battle, keep your eyes focused on Me and the victory I have for you.
Lord, do I start over again? What about Grandpa’s birthday or the grandchildren’s birthday-cake?
I’ll ask you again, do you want major victory or small victory?
I want powerful victory full of Your Holy Spirit and walking with You.
Then My child, you know what to do.

I have been crucified with Christ: and I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. And the real life I now have within this body is a result of my trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 Living Bible (TLB)
