Eating with God, why did I stop eating as God instructed me? Back then I lost over 90 pounds (2014) as I ate in submission to how God led. At the beginning of that weight loss I ate only 3 meals a day for 40 days. Then the Lord led me to cut my food portions in half. It seemed so easy back then. At that time I was 62 years old.

Then . . . Don’t we always have a ‘then’.  So. . .  after three years of maintaining weight loss, I went back to my old habits and old ways. . . Then. . . This resulted in significant weight gain.

So I started talking to my weight loss counselor, God, again. And my goal is to eat in submission to His instructions, only three meals a day with half portions and nothing else.

During my previous experience of losing 90 pounds I had felt God’s Presence so strong. But now eating only three meals a day seems like a major struggle.

I do want God’s Presence with me all the time. The problem is I find so much pleasure and comfort in food.  I’m guilty of turning to food versus God just to deal with stresses of life.

So much bad news on television, riots, protests, CV-19, politicians arguing, and my church closed twice due to a CV-19 breakout. (Although now its’ open.) In addition to all this mess, I’m staying home most of the time with minimal social life,  except for my part time job.

Instead of seeking God’s Presence through all of this, I’m guilty of eating treats and zoning out on social media. So in addition to my initial weight gain, I’m now dealing with another 10 pounds gained during the shut-down.

Lord, I need Your help. Could I start over again with a new commitment to eat before You in obedience? Could I have another chance?

Child, I cautioned, rather impressed upon you not to eat that extra serving of no-carb pizza. But you got it anyway. 

Yes Sir. (Hanging my head down.)

It’s the surrender of your heart I desire. You want to lose weight, but I’m more interested in your heart. Now are you willing to start over again if that is what I lead you to do?

Yes Sir.

Then do so, for I intend to do a work in your heart that you’re unable to comprehend for now. 

Yes Sir. Thank you Lord for Your mercy.

Never thought I’d look like this at Christmas, wearing a mask in public. But praise God, He’s helped me lose 14 pounds so far. More to go. And it feels like freedom, eating with God, in submission to His will. Also my clothes are getting loose too. Praise God. Thank you Jesus. Thank you Holy Spirit.

 But Lord, this describes me, fulfilling the desires of my flesh for more and more food pleasure. So thank you for Your mercy. After so many failures, You still love me. Amazing. And You haven’t given up on me yet.

Child, you can’t do this on your own, in your own power. It’ll be a gift from Me. I’ve already prepared your victory. Now walk in it. Believe it.

Overall Child, My intent is to set you free. I provided you freedom. Yet you’re like the elephant held entrapped by a small stick tied by a rope.

 

It is and has always been my intent to break that rope and small stick so you can go forth in freedom and your victory.

But it’s your faith that’s weak. Believe I’ve come to set you free. After all, today is your day of salvation. Now walk in your freedom from food bondage. 

Yes Sir. Thank you Sir.

Now Child, break free. I’ve already given you all the power you need to break free. So now believe and let go. 

Again Lord, I ask for a a strong word, a “power” word from You. I know you’ve spoke to my heart many times before. But now, I’ve given up and surrendered to my weakness.

Therefore, could I have a new fresh word from You? Could it be one I could hold on to and would cause my faith to be fully convinced so I can believe?

Last night I made the decision to eat all of it. But Lord, I know I would have lost weight if only I had listened to You. So why didn’t I listen to You?

Yes Child, obedience always has its rewards. Every action has a reaction. Likewise, every decision has a consequence. As a matter of fact, surrendering your food desires to Me will bring you the result you want- weight loss. 

When you decide to let go of the food in your hand before putting it into your mouth, at that exact moment victory comes. At that exact moment, you choose victory or shame. So which will it be? It is all your decision. 

“I have decided to follow Jesus”

Lord, I have decided I want You and the victory You have for Me. But what if I mess it up before the end of the day?

Child, no fear. Why are you afraid? Why do you doubt? Don’t you yet realize that I AM the one true, all powerful, all knowing God? And I am on your side. With My power you can win because I already have your victory planned. 

So now it is up to you. You already have all you need to win. You are a winner. For you only have to decide. So choose your victory. 

Yes Sir. Thank you Sir.  I choose You and the victory You have for me. Today is a day of victory.

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus, Look Full In His Wonderful Face

Child, do you remember those people in your life who caused you so much stress and discomfort?

Yes Lord.

Remember how I told you to thank Me for them. And you did, even though it was hard for you to find things to be thankful for. That’s when I turned things around. 

So now, when your eyes see things that are not right, evil things within your world, look for something to thank Me for. It may be hard, but there’s always something to thank Me for.

If nothing else, thank Me that this evil is now being revealed in the light. Knowledge and truth about it is now coming forth. So thank Me for that. 

As you thank Me, I’ll turn things around just as I turned around your relationship with those who caused you stress. For now they cause you joy and laughter in friendship.

So, now watch and see what I will do. 

But Lord, what about abortion?

Okay Lord, thank you we’re learning the truth about how an unborn baby feels pain as it’s being aborted. How horrible. When people know the truth, they’ll stop this evil.

Thank you Lord some of these babies were seen before being disposed of. We could see all their fingers and toes. They were not a mass. No, but they were baby martyrs. And now we can see their wholly formed bodies.

Thank you Lord, the truth came out about how their little body parts were being sold and harvested for money and pleasure. Now that people see the truth, changes will be made to stop this evil and those guilty of murder will be punished.

But Lord, what about sex trafficing?

Thank you Lord knowledge of this hidden horror is coming forth and truth is being revealed. And thank you the guilty are being caught and punished. Thank you now I know to pray for these lost children. Forgive me for my failure to pray for them more.

Thank you for the children who escaped to tell their stories so now the truth of this horror is being revealed. Thank you our President Trump is setting forth laws and enforcement task forces to find these children and set them free.

BUT Lord, what about evil politicians, BLM, Antifa, CV-19, and wrongful deaths due toCV-19 patients being sent to nursing homes? what about Portland and Seattle?

Thank you Lord, the truth of all these events are coming forth. Nothing is hidden from You. Thank you Lord for reports of those who come forth to tell their stories as a result of these events. And thank you for the truth about each one being revealed. Finally, people are seeing the truth and the truth will set us all free.

BUT Lord, what about ONE WORLD ORDER, Soros, Rockfeller, Clintons, and hidden organizations?

Thank you Lord the truth and intent of these evil ones who want control is coming forth. What has been hidden is now being revealed. Thank you Lord for the truth and the truth will set all people free from their control.

You are King over all. You are in control.

Child, turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. 

BUT Lord, what about our election and the future of USA?

Child of Mine, don’t you know yet, that I AM in charge of ALL including your election and the future of USA? Trust Me. Now watch and see what I will do.

So Lord, what do You want to talk about?

You, I love you. I want your heart toward Me. 

Lord, how can I turn my heart more toward You?

Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face.

But Lord, how?

To begin with,  look away from your cell phone. After all, your screen report said 6 hours a day. Do you spend 6 hours a day with Me?

No Lord.

Child, I want you to find your pleasure in My Presence, not your cell phone and not your food. But Me, I want you to find your pleasure in My Presence. 

But Lord, I need Your help. Show me how to turn away from all my bad habits, food, cell phone, and turn to You.

Child, turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace. 

Child, the election doesn’t need you for I have already decided who it will be. But I need you. I need you to turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace. 

Child, I need you.

But Lord, how do You need me? You are God and I am not. How do You need me?

Child, I need your love. I want your love, not your distractions. 

Lord, show me how.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace. 

Lord, show me how? I’ve got devotionals and Your Bible. Is that how? Do I sing for You? Lord, show me how to turn my eyes upon Jesus.

Seek My Presence. Talk with Me throughout your day. Remember how you used to put an empty coffee cup on your table and sit there to talk with Me? Back then, you invited Me to be with you. But I want to be with you now. Invite Me into your day. 

You focus has been on your “to do” list, your menu plans, your grocery lists, your social media, your election, and your news. Focus on My Presence. Invite Me into your day, not just your morning “quiet” time.

Talk with Me about everything that concerns you. Then praise Me for the answers. Look to Me for your answers for I hold it all in MY HANDS. For I am in charge. Remember.

Turn you eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.

That’s My plan for you, freedom and your personal victory. 

Thank you Lord for the weight loss today. I feel so successful and victorious when I stand on the scales and the numbers go down.

 

Child, I’ve told you this many times before. My plan is for you to have freedom and victory. It’s not My will for any of My children to go forth in defeat.

Now trust Me and continue in your surrender and obedience. Obedience brings peace. When you trust Me and obey My will, it takes all the burden and responsibility of making the right decisions off of your shoulders. After you surrender your will, then the weight of decisions is all placed on My shoulders.

Overall I can carry the weight of decisions. Therefore seek My will  and I will lead you correctly every time. It will always turn out for your good for that is My will. Know  all things work together for good for those who love Me. (Romans 8:28)

That’s My plan for you. That’s My will for you, “good”. I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you, but plans to give you a hope and a future, even with your weight issues. My plan for you is victory, My child. That’s My plan for all My children.

Thank you Lord for the peace I feel in Your Presence. So direct all my steps and my food choices according to Your plan for today.

Old lies or truth, what do you listen to? Specifically what do you speak in self-talk, old lies or truth? (Note: This is a repost from earlier this year, but I need to hear it again. How about you?)

Here’s some examples of old lies and truths I’ve heard:

1. Old Lie: “You’re fat and ugly too.” This was the #1 lie I’ve heard throughout my life, a lie from Satan.                                       This picture was made in May 2013.

Truth: You’re created in God’s image. So you’re beautiful. After all, God don’t make ugly. In fact He delights in you just as you are. And He sings over you too.

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love, He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV

2. Old Lie: “You’re a failure. You can’t stick to a diet. You can’t do anything right. Even if you lost weight, you’ll just gain it back.” This lie competes with #1 for first place.

Truth: With God on your side, you’re guaranteed victory. “Never a failure. Always a lesson.”

3. Old Lie : You’re older now, so its harder to lose weight. After all, your metabolism has slowed down to nothing. So why try? Just quit. Eat all you want and enjoy life.

Truth: Eating, although pleasurable, is not the source of joy in life. Living in God’s Presence is the ultimate source of joy. And He will fill you with His joy, true joy unspeakable.

You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your Presence. Acts 2:28 NKJV

Does life feel like this? It’s an old lie that food will make you feel better. It’s truth that seeking God’s advice will bring peace.

4. Old Lie: Everything’s going wrong today. It seems the world is going crazy. So go ahead, eat some comfort food. Then you’ll feel better. Food is comfort and pleasure. After all, you’re under a lot of stress. So get a treat.

Truth: Overeating causes more stress. When your clothes get tight, the scales go up, and shame comes due to overeating, you have more stress.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6 NKJV

God’s Presence brings peace and victory. So what do you listen to, old lies or truth? You get to choose.

This is the truth. We have victory because of Jesus.

God given boundaries aren’t to punish or rob us from pleasure. Instead, these God given boundaries increase our self-control. Thereby increasing our confidence. Overall, if we stay within these boundaries, they’ll guarantee our total victory.

God given boundaries aren’t to helm us in. Instead they’ll bless us with peace and joy and increase our victories.

Who would have known? In reality, rules are good. They bless you with your personal victorious living.

Thank you Lord for these God given boundaries.

Now Lord, I ask forgiveness for yesterday’s sins, especially the overeating. Not only did the consequences reveal themselves on the scales this morning, but the sense of shame hung itself around my neck.

Lord, I do want to make You proud. Overall, I want to please You in all things, even to what I eat. Thank you for not giving up on me.

Child, I will never give up on you. I never give up on any of My children. For I love each and every one right where they are.

 I have a plan for each and every life. It is a plan for their personal victory and abundant life. If only they would seek Me, then they’d find amazing love, real joy, and supernatural peace, even within the storms of life. After all, I AM what they are seeking for. I AM ALL.

Lord, I’ve tried so hard to eat correctly only to fail again. I’ve fasted, only to binge again after the fast. Lord, I’ve tried again and again only to fail over and over.

Today is the day of salvation. So make it your focus to walk in your victory for today, the victory I already have planned for you.

Child, I’m your source of strength. So stay within the boundaries of what I have already told you, three meals a day, no snacks, and half portions. As a result of staying  within the lines of My boundaries, you’ll gain victory versus extra weight. Then you’ll become the masterpiece I have planned for you to be.

Trust Me, for I know all. Trust Me, for I am your source of victory. Now come to the light of My glory. Child, for I AM your victory. So come to Me and allow Me to fill you with My Holy Spirit.

Yes Sir. Here I am. Totally, I give myself to You. Forgive my sins of self-pleasing. Help me to turn away from these sins of self. Also help me give my whole self to You and Your will for my life.

Here I am. I give myself to You. So do with me as You will. Guide me and lead me according to Your will . Thank you for another chance at life, the life You have planned for me. Overall, it’s a new life of victory with a new beginning.

Finally, thank you Lord for not giving up on me.

But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved.) . . .  God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Ephesians 2: 4, 8 NLT

I pray that from His glorious unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through His Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. Ephesians 3: 16,17 NLT

Child, yesterday you asked for a scripture to hold on to – to claim as a promise- to believe in. Here it is:

– I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

I AM on your side and I will help you because I love you. Now repeat after Me-

– I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

 But Lord, what do You want me to do?

To repeat what I’ve told  you many times already. 1. Seek My will in all you do, even to what you eat. 2. Listen as I speak to your heart. 3. Follow My guidance. 4. Obey My words. 5. Trust Me for I work out all things for your good. 

But Lord, even this weight gain?

Yes Child. for this weight that so easily attaches itself to you causes you to seek Me. Therefore I am working it out for your good. 

Although I intend for you to have victory over this food addiction. Also know that it’s not My desire that this freedom process take you 40 years. Of course, you make that choice by your actions. 

Oh Lord, the worst part is I feel that I have sinned and embarrassed You by my weight gain.

Child, I will never give up on you. I never give up on any of My children. Rather I’m always drawing on their hearts, calling them unto Myself. 

As a matter of fact, I’m calling on many hearts now to turn to Me for their victory.

My peace is their victory. I offer unto all peace of heart and peace of mind.

After all, My Love is their victory. And I offer unto all a love that cannot be erased. Therefore I will never reject or abandon them no matter what they do or say. In spite of their failures, I’ll always love them. In fact I’ll forever call on their hearts with words of My love. 

Strength I offer them, not physical strength to move boulders. Instead I offer strong inner strength to withstand the pressures of life, especially when it feels overwhelming. Indeed, I am always by their side holding them up in My strength.

Finally Child, know this means ALL THINGS. After all, if I brought you to it, I will bring you through it. 

Yes Sir. Thank you sir.

 

Your victory is assured because of Me. For I’ve already created plans for your victory.

But you must eat only 3 meals a day due to the underlying compulsion to overeat. Food addiction is waiting at the door to consume you. Therefore remember, you must eat as I have instructed. John the Baptist ate locusts and honey. So you can do this.

Even though you are the one consuming the food, this is the sin that easily entraps you in defeat. This sin is waiting for you to open the door so it can come in to consume you. It consumes your victory. And it defeats your winning attitude. 

Because of Me, your victory is assured. The weight of  defeat and shame is not My will for My children. Victory over sin is My will. Therefore the more you maintain a closeness to My Presence, the easier it is for you to gain victory and win your battles over food addiction. 

You’ve heard “Pray without ceasing”. This doesn’t mean repeating your prayer list over and over. Instead, it’s maintaining your communication with Me throughout your day. It’s focusing on our relationship and interacting with Me. You could say, it’s maintaining an awareness of My Presence with you. 

Talk with Me about everything, every detail of your life and the lives of those you are concerned about.  

I AM GOD, the God over everything. And yet, I am concerned over every detail of your life. Think about that for a while. I am concerned over you personally, and everything in your life too. 

Yes, there are times when you make bad choices. But I will never leave you or forsake you for you are Mine. And I work out all things for the good of those who love Me. No matter what you see. 

Don’t look at what you see. Instead look at Me. Then watch and see what I will do for I am the God of victory. And I will bring about victory in the lives of all those who love Me. Know your victory is assured for I have already planned for it.

As you look around you see much that looks like defeat and discouragement, sickness and death. But I am the God of life, eternal life, and victory. I have come to grant abundant life and victory over defeat. 

Satan’s desire is to kill, steal, and destroy. So when you see people killing each other, stealing from one another, and destroying each other’s property, know it’s from Satan. 

Overall, know that I came to bring about new life, abundant life, total victory, and internal peace within the storms. 

Finally know that I WIN. No matter what you see with your eyes, I WIN. Remember that and take comfort in knowing I am with you. I will bring you through all things. Your victory is assured.

Focus on My Presence and victory is yours. You will win for I have already fixed your race in advance. So you can rest in MY peace knowing I have already arranged your victory. 

So now go forth in My plans for your day. Remember and focus on this, My plan is for your victory. I am the God of victory. I win, therefore you win.

Now go forth in confidence knowing I am by your side. No matter what, I will bring you through. For your victory is assured.
