Lord, here I am completely at “rock bottom”, fatter than I have been in years! Lord, can You save me? I know I run to food for emotional comfort! I feel enslaved by this food! Lord, I want freedom from this bondage! I do want to serve You! I want to do the right thing! But I have no power to help myself at all! Everything looks as if I have lost!
(It looked that way on the cross too!)
But Lord, You were sacrificing due to Your love for others. I am losing to gluttony and defeat! It looks as though I have lost all!
(My child, how many times have I told you, “Don’t look at what you see; LOOK AT ME!” All is not lost, for you have Me and hope, you have Me and faith, for I am with you! Yes, I will help you!)
But Lord, why would You be with me? I am so full of sin, full and bloated by the sins of last night!
(My child, I love you and I have plans for you. I will set you free and you will help others. Yes, you have found your place-this “Celebrate Recovery” program is for you. You will heal as you serve.)
