“Strength Came, Destroyed Fear, Her Enemy” was written over two years ago. Even though it’s fiction, I think it’s relevant to our lives now. What gave her victory? Consider, what will give you victory?
Imagination wrote this fiction story. Then again, maybe this is how it really happened, maybe not. Only God knows. But what do you think? Use your imagination. How do you think she felt?
It seems as though we all have fears in our life? While God’s Power granted her victory and she destroyed her enemy in this fiction story, He’s already made provision for your victory too. That’s not fiction. You already have all the necessary strength to destroy your own enemies of fear and defeat, as much as you need. His Power guarantees your victory. After reading this story, maybe you can believe for your victory too.
Believe it. Therefore go forth in your victory.
HER VICTORY
The young girl stood by the window as she watched the approaching storm clouds. What’s that noise?
She looked to see a snake curled by the leg table. Holding her breath, she glanced around the room looking for a possible weapon.
She considered running, but heard whispering and froze in place, “You will see suffering beyond your heart and death will come.”
She frowned as she watched the snake slithering closer. What? Did that snake speak to her?
“I’ve come to destroy you and yours. Many will die because of my power.”
What? Her entire body shivered in fear. She tried to stop shaking, but couldn’t as she considered the words she heard. They cut her heart in fear.
Then she spotted the machete by the door. She cried “God, help me”, grabbed the machete, and swung it down with all the strength in her body. Strength came she didn’t know she had. The sound of the machete filled the room as it cut the head of the snake.
She collapsed on the floor still shaking at what could have been. What’s that? Another snake? She cried again in desperation, “Lord, help me.”
Then she turned and saw him standing there smiling. Instead of fear, she felt strength growing within her.
“Be not afraid, be filled with courage in the Name of God.” He continued, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God. He sent me to tell you how blessed you are among women.”
She listened to his words full of amazement.
“Never be afraid again Mary. Know that you are highly favored. God is with you. God will place a child within you that will rule forever over all.”
“But I have never been with a man, so how can this be?”
“God’s Holy Spirit will overshadow you and you will give birth to the Son of God”.
She thought of the law of adultery, her parents, and how she would face death due to an unexplained pregnancy. Could this have been what the snake meant? Then unexplained strength filled her heart as she remembered the stories of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, Daniel, and David. She remembered how Esther brought about salvation for her people. All had faced death, but God provided the victory.
Filled with both humbleness and strength, she spoke. “Behold, the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be according to your word.”
Gabriel replied, “Mary, you will be filled with God’s victory. Now go forth in your victory.”

AUTHOR’S NOTE: The snake’s (Satan) purpose is to kill, steal, and destroy. He wanted to destroy mankind in the beginning with Adam and Eve, and he wants to destroy us as well.
In this fiction story, Mary destroyed the snake with a machete (sword). We can destroy the works of Satan in our lives by using our sword, the Word of God (Bible). Just as a seed for “new life” was placed in Mary, a seed for “new life” is placed in all of us when we say to the Lord Jesus, “Behold Your servant, I give myself to thee.”
God speaks to each of us, “Go forth in your victory.” Because of His sacrifice, we can all be filled with His VICTORY!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL
