When Praying, Use Caution

When praying, use caution. Be careful what you pray for because you just might get it. Sometimes God answers your prayers just to teach you.

For a while we had the grandkids dog, Willow, while they lived in an apartment, He was such a sweet loving dog, At times i’d Just let him sit in my lap while I rocked him. He ate that up. Hmm, I wonder if all those times we grab that extra food, are we just needing someone to just hold us?

We stayed gone a lot and Willow was lonely. So I overfed him to make him feel better. Isn’t that what we do, eat to make ourselves feel better?

Then I mentioned to Hubby we needed another dog to keep Willow company, His response, “No.”

So I prayed, “Lord, please send a dog that will keep Willow company. And let Hubby like this dog.” Remember when praying, use caution. You might just get what you asked for.

We came home and there he was, Goober, the Pitt bull. Hubby was impressed at his muscular build and his beauty. Goober and Willow became best friends.

But as time went by, Willow’s personality changed and he bit the gas meter man. He was influenced by his aggressive friend, Goober.

. . . “Bad company corrupts good character.” 1 Corinthians 15:33Goober killed this poor little possum. Yes, Goober jumped up, pulled the possum out of the tree, and killed him while we screamed in horror. Then I had to threaten Goober with a shovel to bury the possum.

Both dogs tore up the dog bed I bought them.

Goober chewed my wooden swing. He chewed my wooden rocking chairs. And he also chewed up up Hubby’s plastic storage boxes. He dug holes all over the backyard.

He’d jump on my back and slobber all over me. At times this 65 lb. dog held my arm in his mouth slobbering on me. I’d shudder as I watched him crush a limb between his teeth.

So yes, my advice to all is when praying, use caution. You just might get what you’re asking for.
