WATER FOR LIFE

THE SKIN TEST

Lord, I don’t like water. It’s so boring. I love drinks with fizz, coffee with cream, and southern ice tea. Now I have a bladder infection, the doctor says I’m dehydrated and need more water.

I asked her opinion about a skin test. (If you pinch up the skin on your hand and it stays pinched up then you’re dehydrated.)  She confirmed the test was correct.

I thought maybe this was  just extra skin due to my weight loss. (64 lbs.)  “Could my skin just be loose like that of an old hound dog?” “Could it just be that I lost weight?”

“No, that isn’t  just extra skin, you’re dehydrated.”

So, I guess I’ll drink more water now. Doctor orders. Sigh.

My child, I’ve told you for some time to drink more water. Sometimes you listened and sometimes you didn’t. Haven’t you learned yet that I know exactly what your body needs? If you truly listen, trust, and obey, then you would be surprised at how strong you would become both spiritually and physically.  Your body requires fluid lubrication and water is what I created for that lubrication.

There are always consequences to your choices, both good  and bad. This slight illness is your body’s way of crying out for thirst. You’re blessed the consequences weren’t worse. Now drink this water so your body can cleanse itself and heal.

Lord, I’ve been drinking water all day except for my morning coffee. How long will it be before my skin goes back to normal?

MY NEW BEST FRIEND

Just keep drinking and you will find out.

(I sensed God laughing at me.)

“But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” John 4:14

He said to me: “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost the spring of the water of life. Revelation 21: 6

  1. BTW, Love your writing.

  2. Awesome post! We just had a sermon on the talk Jesus had with the samaritan at the well last week.

And yes girl, stay hydrated! I actually loooooveee water and only drink that and milk but I know a lot of people who would feel its boring. One thing I do is slice up a lemon and put it in my water bottle or even a couple strawberries, cucumber, etc. I do it more to stay on the healthy track because that lil lemony taste reminds me of health. But maybe you could try for flavor.

    • Thank you so much for your advice. I just can’t seem to give up my morning coffee. But I am drinking a lot more water.

  5. did she give you a med for the pain? AZO Standard (or generic) is OTC and a wonderful help. Turns urine yellow or orange. but it can help you function till you are much better. I guess you got antibiotic prescription. yes, important. glad you reminded me. i will drink tea if i have a choice. but i try to take a half-liter bottle of water with me everywhere i go. I fill it a couple times AM and PM and drink it. you can add lemon or lime juice to it. helps! hope u feel better quickly

    • The doctor gave me medicine, thank you so much for your concern Becky.

  6. I love your blogs so much!

If you miss fizzy drinks, what about trying sparkling water? I drink seltzer water with fresh limes all day long. I used to drink tons of soda, and when I decided I wanted to give it up, I used seltzer water to help break the habit, and I never stopped drinking it. The fizz tricks your brain into thinking you’re drinking soda or something. I used to be dehydrated constantly, but thanks to my new seltzer obsession, I am A-OK! Maybe give it a try? 🙂

    • Thank you Rachael for your advice. I just might try some.
