The Truth Comes Out -Part Four

Posted on by

The truth comes out. Some ladies contacted me via social media and wanted to start a Bible study online. They said they were Christians. But they also wanted to include some passages from their book.

After three weeks of online interaction, they sent me a (pdf) copy of their book. That’s how I found out they were in a cult, by googling the author. Yep, sometimes the truth comes forth through Google. After discovering they were part of a cult, I became afraid. After all, the article told how some of their members killed a woman at a McDonalds.

So I blocked them from my social media sites. After I blocked them, everything they sent me disappeared, their book, their videos, the passages, and all our messages too. Then I deleted most of my personal info online. Overall I tried to erase my online footprints.

Then our alarm system broke. Finally after three weeks of no alarm, the repairman fixed it, Meanwhile I had two loaded guns on my nightstand. One day I kept one on the kitchen counter. Hubby pleaded, “Don’t shoot me in the middle of the night,”  It’s amazing what fear can do.

Another day while cleaning, I found a bracelet with “You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think” printed on it. It was leftover from Christmas. I had bought all my granddaughters one. Got it from Amazon.

So now I’m wearing this bracelet to remind me who I belong to. Every time the little hanging heart clinks, it makes reminds me of the bells that hung from the High Priests’ robe when they went into the Holy of Holies. See Exodus 39: 25-26. The tinkling noise from the bracelet helps me remember the Holy Spirit is with me. Instead of being afraid I now think of God’s love for me.

(If you’ll like to know what else I did to fight fear, stay tuned for Part Five-More to come, probably on Monday. This story is just too long for one post. But it has an inspiring ending. Stay tuned.)

The Truth Comes Forth

For God will never give you the spirit of fear, but the Holy Spirit who gives you mighty power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7 TPT

And Jesus, answering them, began to say: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and will deceive many.  Mark 13:5,6 NKJV

Don’t be fooled by those who speak their empty words and deceptive teachings telling you otherwise. This is what brings God’s anger upon the rebellious! Ephesians 5:6 TPT
