Performance-Based Love

Performance-based love

PERFORMANCE-BASED LOVE

Child, you have performance-based love for yourself. When you accomplish much you feel good about yourself . But when you don’t perform as you think you should, you criticize yourself. You judge yourself as a failure.

Open your eyes to see yourself as I see you. You’ve heard it said, “Love your neighbor as yourself”. My child, I say, “Be kind to yourself”.

Quit beating yourself up for your so-called failures. You’re not a failure. You are Mine. I see you as complete in My Presence. I cover you with Myself. Therefore, your so-called flaws are covered by My blood and My Holy Spirit.

As you yield yourself to Me, I’ll lead you to your victory. For I do have victory planned for you. As a matter of fact, I have victory planned for each one of Mine.

When My Spirit is invited into one’s heart, I fill their heart with My victory. Then I lead and direct each one to the victory I have planned for each one specifically.

FEAR OF SHORTAGES

Lord, Abba Father God, I’m afraid of shortages.

Child, you’ve been caught up in fear. Preparation is good, but fear? No, fear is destructive.  Child, as you seek My wisdom, I will lead you.

But you must seek My voice and listen. Cut out some of that endless noise of media and listen carefully for My voice speaking to your heart. Remember I spoke to Elijah in a small, still voice. I never yell or scream.

Child, this is your word for today. “Listen, trust, and obey.” Focus on that. Then watch and see what I will do. And let go of your performance-based love, both for yourself and others.

Yes Sir. Help my unbelief. Increase my faith, especially my faith in You. And help me to let go of my performance-based love, both of myself and others too.

FEED ON THIS

Become one with Him, no longer counting on being saved by being good enough or by obeying God’s laws, but by trusting Christ to save me; for God’s way of making us right with Himself depends on faith – counting on Christ alone. Philippians 3:9 TLB

For every child of God can obey Him, defeating sin and evil pleasure by trusting Christ to help him. 1John 5:4 TLB

For by grace you have been saved by faith. Nothing you did could ever earn this salvation, for it was the love gift from God that brought us to Christ!           Ephesians 2:8 TPT

Listen For My Voice

Listen for My voiceListen for My voice, seek My guidance. Remember at times, My voice at times is a still, quiet voice. Listen for My voice, Child. Even though there is much noise around, you can still listen. If you focus, listen, trust, and obey, then I’ll lead you to your victory.

I will never give up on you or the victory I have planned for you. So you never give up, My child, for I have great plans coming forth, plans for your victory.

Listen for My voice.

Oh Lord! Thank you, but at times I put my face down in the feeding trough. Am I stupid?

No, My child. . . .just. . .

What Lord? What am I then? Is it Your voice I’m hearing? Am I weird?

No, My child, just backslidden into your old ways.

Lord, I’m in a trap of my own making. How can I stop this binge eating? I do good for several days, then I return to the slop jar over and over. How can I stop?

Child, come to Me before eating anything. Drink your water and come to Me.

Lord, will I ever stop?

Yes, when you start coming to Me.

Lord, I thought I heard You correctly when I ordered this program.

You did hear Me correctly. But when you’re into our food pleasure, your ears are closed due to your will to overeat.

Lord, is there any hope for me? It seems I have no self-control at all.

Child, I am your hope. And I intend to make you strong.

Lord, renew my mind. Make it yours.Submission in your heart

So you must live as God’s obedient children. Don’t slip back into your old ways of living to satisfy your own desires. . . 1 Peter 1:14 NLT

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of god, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you. 1 Peter 5:6,7 NLT

Then He added, “Now go and learn the meaning of this Scripture: ‘I want you to show mercy, not offer sacrifices.’ For I have come to call not those who think they are righteous, but those who know they are sinners.” Matthew 9:13 NLT

Romans 8:28 and Trust

Posted on by

I’m learning about Romans 8:28 and trust. Here’s how the conversation went:

Lord, the scales went up even though I only ate broiled seafood (notice- broiled, not fried like I love it) , 2 cups of gumbo with no rice (notice- no rice), 2 rice cakes (notice- with nothing spread on them), one small satsuma, and one small apple. That’s all I ate all day long and yet the scales went up.

Now Lord, I ask You, how can that cause a one pound weight gain?Romans 8:28 and trust

Child, yesterday you drank no water and had very little activity. I’m teaching you.

Well Lord, . . . what am I learning?

Child, you’re learning about Romans 8:28 and trust. Both yesterday and today you ate past full. You chose to eat past full. When you don’t follow instructions, you get what you get.

Consequences always come from all decisions. Whether they are good consequences or bad, there are always consequences to every decision. Weigh your thoughts and consider your consequences.

Today focus on following the eating plan I gave you: 1) Wait until hunger before eating. 2) Seek My guidance concerning your food choices. 3) Trust and obey My instructions. 4) Stop eating before you reach full.

Your desire is to lose weight, but My desire is to teach you about Roman 8:28 and trust. Trust and obey. Throughout this process I am teaching you how to trust and look to Me.

Learn this now and when a crisis comes you will know how to come through victorious. Now today focus on the words and instructions I have already given to you. You will have victory today for I have already ordained it.

Yes Sir. Thank you Sir. Forgive me for my complaining and choosing to go against Your instructions. Help me to focus on Your will, to trust and obey You in all things even with the food I eat and how much I eat.Trust

Romans 8:28 and Trust

And we know [with great confidence] that God [who is deeply concerned about us] causes all things to work together [as a plan] for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His plan and purpose. Romans 8:28 AMP

What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31 AMP

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors and gain an overwhelming victory through Him who loved us [so much that He died for us]. Romans 8:37 AMP

Help me listen

40 Days of Victory
Day 7

Lord, help me listen to You. I do need to talk with You. But most important of all, help me to listen as You lead.

Yesterday, even though I’ve followed Your basic instructions for my eating I didn’t listen. Therefore this morning the scales went up. Lord, I know why. Not only was it wrong food choices but I didn’t stop eating when You led me to. Open my ears and my heart to listen more intently. Continue reading

You Answered Me, God

Posted on by

. . . When I called, You answered me and You strengthened me with strength (mighty and inflexibility to temptation) in my inner self.                                          Psalm 138:3 AMPC

Lord, what do You want to talk about?

You, I want you.Lord, You Answered Me

Sir? What about me?

One day at a time, one moment at a time, focus on My Presence for I am with you leading and guiding  you each step of the way.

As I look back on my life Lord, I’ve made so many wrong choices and so many mistakes. I’ve messed up so much, and lost so many opportunities with my negative thinking. You’ve opened doors for me. Then I shut them with my stinking thinking.

But Child, come to Me now. Humble yourself before Me. Seek My will. Ask and you’ll receive My direction for all that concerns you. I’ll lead you if you’ll listen. Child, I’m here for you. Just come to Me in humble adoration for I am your source. I am your all. If you listen, I will lead. You Answered Me

To begin with Lord, open my ears so I can hear Your voice as You speak to my heart. Then help me to listen. At times I’ve been so messed up. So Lord, I need You.

Child, I’m here for you and I love you. All you see now are your failures. but I’m an expert at turning failures inside out. Then I create success and victory out of those failures. So rejoice if you consider your life a failure, for now I have something to work with- you!

When I cried out for help, You answered me . Thank you Lord.He Answered Me

Truth Brings Freedom- Part Six

His truth brings freedom.

Because I’d been part of an online Bible study only to later find out these ladies were part of a cult, I had a long talk with the Lord——

“Lord, what do You say? Do You want me to write about this?” Continue reading

Inconsistent – Holy 30 Devotional** – Day 23 & 24

Posted on by

Inconsistent, hmmm . . . . My middle name should be “Inconsistent”. Let me explain. First, I’m inconsistent  with my writing. second, I’m inconsistent in keeping my house clean, and finally, I inconsistent with handling my money. You know, keeping the checkbook up to date and paying bills when due. Yes, I’m certainly inconsistent there.

I dream of projects to create a side business, so I spend money collecting all the supplies necessary. Then said projects just sit there for weeks, or months because my interest became focused on other things. This explains why I have a huge collection of lace, material, and crochet dollies. I had dreamed of making vintage aprons and selling them for profit. But one day I’d sew some on an apron, then for several days I’d lay it aside. Inconsistent, I’d say. Yep.

There’s is one thing I do consistently. That’s crying out to the Lord. It seems that I cry out to Him about everything. It’s wonderful how He is always there ready to listen.

But sometimes I don’t listen to His instructions. Uh-oh. Free will, anyone?  I need to listen more, trust more, and obey more. Listen, trust, and obey. Yea, that’s it.

For instance, see those plastic containers. I’d made a Facebook post to give these away for free. Stated that if no one wanted them, in the garbage they would go.

Just yesterday, garbage day, I gathered them up to throw away. But on the way to the garbage can, it came to me, “Just hold them a little longer. Friday is the next garbage day. Wait until then.”

My logic side (Yes, it shows up sometimes, though rarely.) said, “No, I said if no one claimed them, they were going to the garbage.” So I put them in the garbage can and walked back in  the house.

Later in the evening, a lady contacted me saying that her church could use these containers. Oh no . . . , they were already gone. Garbageman already took them. Oh no! How I wished I had listened to God’s Holy Spirit guiding me.

Lord, I’m so sorry I didn’t follow Your leading. I was so busy completing my plans that I didn’t pay attention to Your guidance. I’m just sick about this. A church could have used these. Please forgive me and help me to listen. Open my ears to her Your voice and pay attention. Then help me to obey Your leading.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2

Below are two books I love. They emphasize listening to God’s voice. They help me during those times when I’m crying out.

You can find both books on amazon.com. No, I’m not an affiliate for Amazon.com. I keep telling myself I’m going to, just never do. Guess that’s something else I’m inconsistent with or could that just be an old fashioned case of procrastination? Sigh
