Removing Leftovers & More Christmas Shopping, the Easy Way

Posted on by

The refrigerator’s full of Thanksgiving leftovers. I love them. Love all leftovers. You get to enjoy more meals without cooking again. One friend said, “Cook once, enjoy twice or more.” I agree, don’t you?

In the past Thanksgiving leftovers meant binge weekend, especially if Hubby went to work. No witnesses, no crime, right? I used to make a soup out of leftover dressing, then eat one bowl after another until I was sick. What kind of life was that? Can you imagine how all that cornbread dressing swelled up inside a body? It would probably make a good glue, ya think?

Should I give him some leftovers too? What do you think?

Lord, how I love leftovers. But because of You, I can throw them out without the guilt of wasting food. It’s better to fill the garbage rather than my rear end. Maybe I’ll give some to the dog too? This freedom of letting go is exhilarating. Thank You for the victories of this past month, both small and large. I’ve no willpower to resist temptation, but You’ve all the strength. You are the Power. You delivered me from this compulsion to consume food for pleasure. I want You for the delight of my life. Fill me with Your Spirit so my life is full and not my pants.

Open the eyes of my heart so I focus on Your Presence and Your will instead of struggles with everyday life, the “to do” list, or pleasure activities. I want to walk in Your Presence and bring pleasure to You. Throughout the difficulties, I see an increase of victories, and for this I worship You, Mighty King, the One in charge of everything.

“My child, I hold your victory in My hand. Open your eyes and partake of what I have, joy unspeakable and full of glory.”

God keeps them occupied with gladness of heart. Ecclesiastes 5:20

Friends invited us over to eat their leftovers. I carried some of mine over there too. And tonight, the grandchildren are coming to eat the rest of the leftovers. Yea! Sharing food with friends and family, what a joy!

Black Friday was easy in my Lazy Boy. Did you get up at 4a.m. to line up at the door? Saw on the news a shooting at a Wal-Mart (not in our city) over a parking space. What???

Now it’s Cyber Monday and I’m shopping again, from the sofa this time and in my PJ’s, drinking hot tea. Oh, what a hard life I lead. (Sighing contentedly.)

Love With Food   -They deliver a gift box of organic snacks each month. I ordered this for Hubby. I don’t snack, but if it looks good, I may steal some of his to eat with my meal. What got me was that for every gift box ordered they donate a free meal to a Food Bank. I like that. Hubby’s gift box will come mid-December. I let you know. (Also I get paid a small commission. Nice, to get paid for buying Hubby a gift. Hope he likes it.)
