Lord, so much has happened since I last wrote; we lost a dear friend, we lost a dear brother, and now we are caring for an elderly parent in our home. But praises be to you my dear Lord, for You are carrying us through it all!

Lord, I praise You for through all these stresses You have maintained me! You held me in Your arms of comfort. In the past during stressful times I would have turned to the comfort of food, but You Lord were my comfort through all of these events of the past several months. You Lord, are my source and for this I praise You!

Now not only I have lost weight, but I am becoming stronger, both spiritually and physically. For this I praise You! Thank you Lord for providing all that I have need of. Teach me Your ways so that I  bring honor and glory to You! Lord, You delivered me from the temptation of an overabundance of cake, leftover from the funeral.! For this victory I praise You!

Actually, I enjoyed three servings from one ‘little’ snack cake! Wow! I remember when I would eat the ‘whole box’ of these favorite snack cakes and then go to the store to buy more so I could hide the fact from my husband. Now Lord,  I have had ‘three’ different servings throughout this week from just one snack cake and the small portions provided plenty enough satisfaction. For this victory I praise You, My Lord!

Leftovers, hmm! How I love leftovers! But Lord, I have even thrown away some of the leftovers without any guilt of wasting food! It is better that the garbage can increase rather that my rear end! But the freedom of  ‘letting go’  is exhilarating! Praises be to You, my Lord for the victories that You have given unto me this past month! Praises be unto You for I have no willpower of my own to resist these temptations. But You, my Lord, have delivered me from the desires for these food delights! Lord, I want You to become the ‘delight’ of my life, not the pleasure food! Fill me with Yourself so that my life is ‘full’ and not my pants!

Thank you Lord, I have lost 20 lbs. in the last few months, not dieting but just eating according to Your will for me each day. Also Lord, I praise You, for You have allowed me to partake of the sweetness of deserts in small portions. Lord, I ask, let me partake of the sweetness of Your Presence in large quantities!

Lord,  I praise You for all the victories of this past month, both the small victories and the large ones,  victories in spite of our grieving over the loss of our loved ones and the added responsibility of becoming a caregiver for our 95-year-old loved one. Lord, as I look back over this past month, I see that You have provided many victories and for this I praise You! Open my eyes and my heart so that I focus on Your Presence and obedience to Your will versus the struggles of ‘everyday life’, my ‘to do’ list, and my ‘pleasure activities’. Lord, I want to bring ‘pleasure’ to You and I want to have an increase in the ‘pleasures’ of Your Presence. Through all these difficulties and sorrows, I see the increase of victories, for this I praise You, the Mighty King, the One in charge of everything! Amen.
