New Life, New Day

Posted on by

Last Friday ( Good Friday) feeling somewhat low, I walked through the neighborhood looking for signs of new life and hope.

These are pictures of what I thought was “new life” :

There were beautiful flowers everywhere. The fresh air, sunshine, and the music of the birds singing were wonderful. My spirit lifted but still a sadness lingered.

This was Spring, not new life. I’m looking for new life, a new beginning, new hope.

Where?

Later that evening we went to the Good Friday service at church. Powerful music, powerful drama. Standing in the middle of the choir (soprano section), it’s impossible to video. But Wow! Powerful!

The altar call was given and people went to pray. The altar was full, people stood from one side to the other. They were praying with one another. One husband came up on stage and motioned for his wife who was in the choir to join him. She came out of the choir and they grasped each other’s hand. They went to the altar, held each other, and prayed.

People were at the altar, all seeking a God that loves, all pouring their hearts out to a God that listens, all expressing love both for each another and for this God that forgives. img_8757

Wow! I just saw “new life” all at that altar. It is a new day full of new hope. My spirit sings.

  3. What beautiful pictures! God shows us every day what he has given us to enjoy.
Oh that we would be mindful of his blessings all of the time.
We may weep in the night, but the Word says there will be joy in the morning.
