Fat People With Jesus?

Lord, were there fat people when You walked the Earth?

(Note: I can ask this because I have been obese most of my adult life. And I’m 30 pounds overweight now. So isn’t it nice that we can talk to our Lord Jesus about anything and He doesn’t condemn us for asking silly questions.)

Soon I wont be one of the fat people.

Soon I won’t be one of the fat people- only 30 pounds to go.

Yes Child, there has always been fat people on Earth. Remember, the first sin was overeating and people have been overeating ever since.

Food can be used as a drug to sedate, to bring pleasure, and to increase greed. But food also can be used to sustain and nourish. Although it’s not the food that’s the issue. It’s the heart. 

So I ask you, “What was the condition of your heart when you overate? Was self-pleasure your priority at that time?”

Yes Sir.

Child, I want you to find your highest pleasure in My Presence.

Yes Sir.

I want to be first in your life. There were times in your past where your food pleasure was your highest priority and nothing else, not even your husband. 

Lord, You are so right. Help me to focus on loving both You and the others You place in my life, versus food pleasure. Help me to love You with all my heart, mind, and soul.

Quote from David Jeremiah: “Many people give into  temptation not because they want too much, but because they settle for too little.”

Wow! Lord, all those times I overate, I settled for food pleasure versus the pleasure of the victory You already prepared for me.

In my future, help me to never again settle for food pleasure. Rather help me always focus on the pleasure of Your sweet Presence.
