CRAZY ALL MY LIFE

Posted on by

It’s been crazy all my life. What about yours? You won’t believe what happened?  Usually I weigh myself every morning, first thing, after I wake up. So this Sunday, after waking up around 3 am. I weighed myself and the scales went up two pounds. WHAT? How can that be? I don’t believe it. It can’t be, not after all that food I did not eat! No! Can’t be, It just can’t be!

Then I laid on the sofa, praying. “Lord, how can this be? I ate the way You to me to. I don’t understand? Guess I ate too many desserts, but they were small portions. After all, You did say I could have small portions.

Lord I guess my head’s too big and I’ve gotten too full of myself. Forgive me, fill me up, full of Your Presence”

Continuing to pray. “Lord, guess I’ll have to confess my weight gain on this blog. Maybe it’ll help others. We all mess up now and then. But what do I do now? Should I give up all  desserts? What about going on a strict diet? Do I increase exercise? Drink even more water?”

(You know, for me, drinking the water seems the hardest part. Just can’t’ seem to achieve drinking those 8 glasses of water.)

I  laid on the sofa and prayed about it even more confessing all the sins I could think of, imagined or not. After soul-searching for about another hour, I decided to weigh again.

This time I decided to take off the sweat pants I’d been sleeping in. Then I stepped on scales. They went back down two pounds.  What? Now instead of showing a two lb gain, they said I stayed the same. Well, I did lose .02 oz. Does that count as weight loss?

Remember back in 2014, when this little video was making the rounds on Facebook? It was not created by me. The source is unknown. But I identified with it so much that I’ve kept it all this time. And yes, I just laughed at it again.

It describes how I feel sometimes. Yes, the song is right. I’ve been crazy all my life. How about you? Do you feel this way sometimes? Click on the link for the video: It’s Been Crazy

TWO MISSIONS

Today, if you’d like to donate to a worthy cause, please consider one of these causes, https://preborn.org  or https://www.indiapartners.org/ .

Preborn.org provides free ultrasounds for women considering an abortion. Then hopefully after the mother sees her unborn child in the womb, she’ll choose ‘life’ for that baby.  So please consider making a  donation for the unborn.

India Partners.org is a Christian agency that helps people in India with education, vocation training, disaster relief and medical/health issues. But what touches my heart the most is their work to provide a safe place for children of women who work in the red districts of India.

Furthermore, please know that I DO NOT receive any compensation or commission for advertising these organizations. However they are causes that touch my heart. All contributions go directly to these organizations. As a matter of fact, I will not even know if or when you do make a donation.

Click on either or both of these link for more information or to make a donation https://preborn.org or https://www.indiapartners.org/.

ADVERTISEMENTS

First of all, you know I have to recommend the book I wrote with God’s help. During early morning hours, I’d talk with God about my weight/food issues and that’s what the book is about.

After all, He was my weight loss counselor and He still is today. I highly recommend talking to God to everyone who struggles with weight or any other issues. Of course, He’ll listen to you. So talk to Him about anything on your heart. After all, God answers prayers.

Just click on the picture to order your copy. (Thank you Lord, for  forgiveness, second chances, and new beginnings.)

Also, I’d like to share with you several books written by a personal friend of mine. She writes Christian love stories which include mystery and murder.

In addition, she included my idea as how to get rid of the body of the villain. So naturally I like her books. but it does help that she encourages me to write again. I think you may be able to read them via Kindle for free now. You’ll have to check it out.

Also, just so you know, she is not paying me to mention her books on this blog. In fact she doesn’t even know about it. But I do receive a small commission from  anything you order from Amazon through this blog. So thank you for helping to provide for the expense of maintaining this blog through your orders from Amazon.

This is my favorite book written by my friend. In fact, I cried the entire time I read it.  It was her first book.

  1. You are very welcome! I’ve been through it too. I used to get so defeated when I knew I had put in the work, and yet the scale didn’t reflect the success I felt I was having…then I discovered this new method of measuring pretty often and only weighing on occasion. Many times the scale will say that I’ve lost NOTHING, or that I’ve even gained! But then the tape measure shows I’ve lost inches…

    • Thank you again for your encouraging words. I think I’ll get out the measuring tape tomorrow and keep a record of changes week to week.
      Good idea, thanks again,
      Deb

  2. the scale will lie to you dear…that’s why I only weigh myself on occasion..maybe three times a month (approx every 10 days) because there are so many things to consider..like whether or not you’re retaining water, or whether or not you’ve toned muscle (which actually raises your metabolism, so although you might read as heavier on the scale for a few days, your body will adjust and burn more calories each day, slimming you down across the month)
So I use a measuring tape every couple days, and only weigh on the scale three times a month..it gives you a far more accurate read…

    • Thanks Victoria, that’s good advice. I’m going to have to get the measuring tape and measure. Thank you, Deborah

      • You are very welcome! Glad I could help.

        • Hope to give yo a good report soon,
          Thanks
          Deb

  3. Deborah, keep writing!

    • Thank you Fran. Yo also keep writing those books that I can’t put down until I finish reading them. Then I’m sad because I finished the book. They leave me wanting more.

  4. Congratulations, Debbie. I feel with you. Every morning when I wake up I jump up on my scale like an astronaut on the moon- straight from my bed on to my scale and usually my weight is up a few kilos. When I go for my morning shower and am in my “bares”, then the scale goes down even 2 kilos. So it is unexplainable but never mind, at least the scale is moving one way or the other. 🙂
i love you as you are Debbie. If you are bigger, there is more of you tove.
    Susie

    • Susie, you have been such a good friend and sister in the Lord. You have been a source of encouragement to me through thick and thin, through up and down. Pun intended. I think of you much and wonder how you are. It is because of you and your encouragement that I didn’t quit writing and I thank you, my friend.
