Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus

So Lord, what do You want to talk about?

You, I love you. I want your heart toward Me.

Lord, how can I turn my heart more toward You? turn your eyes upon Jesus

Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face.

But Lord, how?

To begin with,  look away from your cell phone. After all, your screen report said 6 hours a day. Do you spend 6 hours a day with Me?

No Lord.

Child, I want you to find your pleasure in My Presence, not your cell phone and not your food. But Me, I want you to find your pleasure in My Presence.

But Lord, I need Your help. Show me how to turn away from all my bad habits, food, cell phone, and turn to You.

Child, turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.

Child, the election doesn’t need you for I have already decided who it will be. But I need you. I need you to turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.

Child, I need you.

But Lord, how do You need me? You are God and I am not. How do You need me?

Child, I need your love. I want your love, not your distractions.

Lord, show me how.

Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, in the light of His glory and grace.

turn your eyes upon Jesus

Lord, show me how? I’ve got devotionals and Your Bible. Is that how? Do I sing for You? Lord, show me how to turn my eyes upon Jesus.

Seek My Presence. Talk with Me throughout your day. Remember how you used to put an empty coffee cup on your table and sit there to talk with Me? Back then, you invited Me to be with you. But I want to be with you now. Invite Me into your day.

You focus has been on your “to do” list, your menu plans, your grocery lists, your social media, your election, and your news. Focus on My Presence. Invite Me into your day, not just your morning “quiet” time.

Talk with Me about everything that concerns you. Then praise Me for the answers. Look to Me for your answers for I hold it all in MY HANDS. For I am in charge. Remember.

Turn you eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace.

Remember those people in your life that caused you so much stress and discomfort.

Remember how I told you to thank Me for them. So you did, even though it was hard for you to find things to be thankful for. Then I turned things around.

So now I tell you. When your eyes see things that are not right, evil things within your news, look for something to thank Me for. It may be hard, but there is always something to thank Me for.

If nothing else, thank Me that this evil is now being revealed in the light. Knowledge and truth about it is now coming forth. So thank Me for that.

As you thank Me, I will turn things around just as I turned around the relationships of those who caused you stress. Now they cause you joy and laughter in friendship.

So now watch and see what I will do.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lead not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6

That’s My Plan For You

Posted on by

That’s My plan for you, freedom and your personal victory.

Thank you Lord for the weight loss today. I feel so successful and victorious when I stand on the scales and the numbers go down.

Believe

Child, I’ve told you this many times before. My plan is for you to have freedom and victory. It’s not My will for any of My children to go forth in defeat.

Now trust Me and continue in your surrender and obedience. Obedience brings peace. When you trust Me and obey My will, it takes all the burden and responsibility of making the right decisions off of your shoulders. After you surrender your will, then the weight of decisions is all placed on My shoulders.

Overall I can carry the weight of decisions. Therefore seek My will  and I will lead you correctly every time. It will always turn out for your good for that is My will. Know  all things work together for good for those who love Me. (Romans 8:28)

That’s My plan for you. That’s My will for you, “good”. I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you, but plans to give you a hope and a future, even with your weight issues. My plan for you is victory, My child. That’s My plan for all My children.

Thank you Lord for the peace I feel in Your Presence. So direct all my steps and my food choices according to Your plan for today.

Old Lies or Truth

Posted on by

Old lies or truth, what do you listen to? Specifically what do you speak in self-talk, old lies or truth? (Note: This is a repost from earlier this year, but I need to hear it again. How about you?)

Here’s some examples of old lies and truths I’ve heard:

1. Old Lie: “You’re fat and ugly too.” This was the #1 lie I’ve heard throughout my life, a lie from Satan.                                       This picture was made in May 2013.

Truth: You’re created in God’s image. So you’re beautiful. After all, God don’t make ugly. In fact He delights in you just as you are. And He sings over you too.

The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love, He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV

2. Old Lie: “You’re a failure. You can’t stick to a diet. You can’t do anything right. Even if you lost weight, you’ll just gain it back.” This lie competes with #1 for first place.Romans 8:28 and trust

Truth: With God on your side, you’re guaranteed victory. “Never a failure. Always a lesson.”

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 NKJV

But thanks be to God, who gives us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:57 NKJV

3. Old Lie : You’re older now, so its harder to lose weight. After all, your metabolism has slowed down to nothing. So why try? Just quit. Eat all you want and enjoy life.

Truth: Eating, although pleasurable, is not the source of joy in life. Living in God’s Presence is the ultimate source of joy. And He will fill you with His joy, true joy unspeakable.

You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your Presence. Acts 2:28 NKJV

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 NKJV

Old lie or Truth Does life feel like this? It’s an old lie that food will make you feel better. It’s truth that seeking God’s advice will bring peace.

4. Old Lie: Everything’s going wrong today. It seems the world is going crazy. So go ahead, eat some comfort food. Then you’ll feel better. Food is comfort and pleasure. After all, you’re under a lot of stress. So get a treat.

Truth: Overeating causes more stress. When your clothes get tight, the scales go up, and shame comes due to overeating, you have more stress.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6 NKJV

God’s Presence brings peace and victory. So what do you listen to, old lies or truth? You get to choose.

Old lies or truth This is the truth. We have victory because of Jesus.

God Given Boundaries

God given boundaries

God given boundaries aren’t to punish or rob us from pleasure. Instead, these God given boundaries increase our self-control. Thereby increasing our confidence. Overall, if we stay within these boundaries, they’ll guarantee our total victory.

God given boundaries aren’t to helm us in. Instead they’ll bless us with peace and joy and increase our victories.

Who would have known? In reality, rules are good. They bless you with your personal victorious living.

Thank you Lord for these God given boundaries.God given boindaries

Now Lord, I ask forgiveness for yesterday’s sins, especially the overeating. Not only did the consequences reveal themselves on the scales this morning, but the sense of shame hung itself around my neck.

Lord, I do want to make You proud. Overall, I want to please You in all things, even to what I eat. Thank you for not giving up on me.

Child, I will never give up on you. I never give up on any of My children. For I love each and every one right where they are. God given boundaries

I have a plan for each and every life. It is a plan for their personal victory and abundant life. If only they would seek Me, then they’d find amazing love, real joy, and supernatural peace, even within the storms of life. After all, I AM what they are seeking for. I AM ALL.

Lord, I’ve tried so hard to eat correctly only to fail again. I’ve fasted, only to binge again after the fast. Lord, I’ve tried again and again only to fail over and over.

Today is the day of salvation. So make it your focus to walk in your victory for today, the victory I already have planned for you.

Don’t turn to the right or to the left. Just focus on My will for you today and you’ll achieve your victory today. Because I have already planned your victory. Remember your future victory. https://talkingtomyweightlosscounselor.com/2019/11/01/remember-your-victorious-future/

Thank you Sir.Lies or Truth

Child, I’m your source of strength. So stay within the boundaries of what I have already told you, three meals a day, no snacks, and half portions. As a result of staying  within the lines of My boundaries, you’ll gain victory versus extra weight. Then you’ll become the masterpiece I have planned for you to be.

Trust Me, for I know all. Trust Me, for I am your source of victory. Now come to the light of My glory. Child, for I AM your victory. So come to Me and allow Me to fill you with My Holy Spirit.

Yes Sir. Here I am. Totally, I give myself to You. Forgive my sins of self-pleasing. Help me to turn away from these sins of self. Also help me give my whole self to You and Your will for my life.

Here I am. I give myself to You. So do with me as You will. Guide me and lead me according to Your will . Thank you for another chance at life, the life You have planned for me. Overall, it’s a new life of victory with a new beginning.

Finally, thank you Lord for not giving up on me.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Lord, I’m sorry about my overeating.

Child, I love you.

But Lord, what about him, her, or all of them?

I love them too.

Child, yesterday you asked for a scripture to hold on to – to claim as a promise- to believe in. Here it is:

– I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

I AM on your side and I will help you because I love you. Now repeat after Me-

– I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

But Lord, what do You want me to do?

i can do all things

40 Days of Victory
Day 2

To repeat what I’ve told  you many times already. 1. Seek My will in all you do, even to what you eat. 2. Listen as I speak to your heart. 3. Follow My guidance. 4. Obey My words. 5. Trust Me for I work out all things for your good.

But Lord, even this weight gain?

Yes Child. for this weight that so easily attaches itself to you causes you to seek Me. Therefore I am working it out for your good.

Although I intend for you to have victory over this food addiction. Also know that it’s not My desire that this freedom process take you 40 years. Of course, you make that choice by your actions.

Oh Lord, the worst part is I feel that I have sinned and embarrassed You by my weight gain. I can do all things

Child, I will never give up on you. I never give up on any of My children. Rather I’m always drawing on their hearts, calling them unto Myself.

As a matter of fact, I’m calling on many hearts now to turn to Me for their victory.

My peace is their victory. I offer unto all peace of heart and peace of mind.

After all, My Love is their victory. And I offer unto all a love that cannot be erased. Therefore I will never reject or abandon them no matter what they do or say. In spite of their failures, I’ll always love them. In fact I’ll forever call on their hearts with words of My love.

Strength I offer them, not physical strength to move boulders. Instead I offer strong inner strength to withstand the pressures of life, especially when it feels overwhelming. Indeed, I am always by their side holding them up in My strength.

I Can Do The Impossible

I Can Do The Impossible

I can do the impossible. You know why? Because My Lord told me so. Here’s how the conversation went:

________________________

Lord, here I am today. Overall, yesterday was awesome. Thank you.

To begin with, thank you for the weight loss. That’s a huge surprise considering what I ate yesterday. Amazing.

Child, if only you had followed My will for your eating. Then you would have seen more weight loss.

Well Lord, what do You want me to eat today? Or do I fast today, given what all I ate yesterday?

But . . .  can I have ice cream for breakfast first?

Yes, a measured amount.

Can I have it now?

So you want to have ice cream before our time together?

How about during our time together?

Yes, you can have your way. But realize what you are choosing – ice cream – ahead of Me.

Oh Lord, I’m sorry. Help me choose You.

In fact Child, I’m trying to help you. But first, you must believe and you must change your self-talk. How many times a day do you say to yourself, “I can’t”?

A  lot.

Faith Comes By Hearing –

So haven’t you heard, “Can’t never could.”? To begin with, change your self-talk to “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. Then repeat that to yourself several times a day.

Faith comes by hearing. Change your self-talk and then listen. First of all, say to yourself, “I can do all things through Christ.” Then you can resist the stronghold of ice cream before Me.

Lord, help my unbelief.

Child, I am here for you. And yes, you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. For I am the Almighty, Most Powerful God of All, of everything. And I AM on your side helping you. Consider that. Think about that.

Yes Lord, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”.

I can do the impossible

This has always been a stronghold all my life. But no more, for I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Now I can do the impossible.

I Can Do The Impossible

. . . From where shall my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121: 1-2 AMP

For with God nothing [is or ever] shall be impossible. Luke 1:37 AMP

But He answered me, “My grace is always more than enough for you, and My power finds its full expression through your weakness.” So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ moving in me. 2Corinthinans 12:9 TPT

I just want to obey all You ask of me. So teach me, Lord, for You are my God. Your gracious Spirit is all I need, so lead me on good paths that are pleasing to You, my one and only God! Psalm 143:10 TPT

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Our Coronavirus Experience

Posted on by

Thought I’d share our coronavirus experience. It’s not over yet, but what a month it’s been. Hope this never happens again.

"Stay Home"

Stay Home

Overall we do have a lot to be thankful for. To begin with, we’ve escaped getting the virus. Although a friend went to the hospital for emergency stomach surgery, he didn’t get CV-19. Although a sister-in-law went to the hospital for emergency surgery due to a kidney stone, she didn’t get CV-19. To me, the worst part of their hospital stay for over a week was that they could not have any family with them. Both are safely home now. Thank you Lord.

At this time, our city has the highest number of cases in our state. But no one I personally know has gotten the virus. It seems the greatest number of cases are in the rest homes. (Lord, bring Your healing power to these precious elders.)

Hubby’s niece works as a speech therapist in a quality rest home. Although the report is they now have 45 cases, she has not gotten the virus. For this we are thankful. She has two small children to care for. (But Lord, please intervene in behalf of these elders who have served others throughout their lives.)

To begin our coronavirus experience story, we must begin at the grocery store. At the beginning of our story I was still working part time. So I wasn’t able to go grocery shopping at that time. But when I did go, was I ever surprised. I’ve never seen the shelves this empty in all my life, not even when a hurricane was coming.

Coronavirus Experience

The milk case- Almost no milk

I was shocked. It took seven trips to purchase what I thought we might need. What if we were quarantined in our house for two weeks and couldn’t even leave for groceries? Getting sick didn’t make me panic  or fearful, but seeing empty food shelves did.

Coronavirus Experience

The lunchmeat and sliced cheese case.

The orange juice case-

The boxed goods case

And you couldn’t find toilet paper anywhere. Why? There were no extra rolls at my house. So I bought boxes of Kleenex. It was all I could find and I felt lucky to find that.

One afternoon, Hubby came in and said he had a gift for me. Then he handed me this package of toilet paper. I was so thrilled, you’ve thought he gave me diamonds.

Diamonds

For me, one of the worst parts was not being able to see my grandchildren. We did use facetime, but it just wasn’t the same. I like hugs from my grandbabies.

Watching her jump on her trampoline via facetime.

And we weren’t able to be there to help granddaughters celebrate their birthdays. So we made a video for each one on their birthday.

Happy Birthday

We  watched as the Stock Market crashed. Goodbye Hubby’s IRA, 25 years of his life savings disappearing daily.

But overall, the saddest event of our coronavirus experience was the death of Hubby’s brother. No, he didn’t have CV-19. He was cutting limbs out of an oak tree at his church. Somehow he fell off the ladder. We suppose he hit his head on some landscaping rocks. Even though they rushed him by helicopter he passed away on the way.

At his funeral we could only have 10 people and we had to social distance one another. In the chapel, we had to sit on every other pew. They did livestream the service for others to watch. So sad and so surreal.

After the funeral we ate a family meal together and hugged each other in his home. To heck with social distancing. We were grieving and didn’t care about social distancing at all.

Later that night I developed a fever of 100.6. I cried myself to sleep thinking that I had exposed the entire family to CV-19. It turned out to be a bad tooth. Thank God and antibiotics, it quit hurting. But I’m still waiting to see a dentist.

Drive-up church

One of my favorite holidays is Easter. But this year was the saddest Easter ever. Two days after the funeral.  It felt so strange, having no grandchildren to give a basket too. No dressing up for church, no singing in the choir, and no family celebration.

We did go to drive-up church which was nice, but it just wasn’t the same as having Resurrection Sunday celebration in the sanctuary.

Now media has been talking about a possible food shortage due to CV-19. After hearing that a full-fledge panic set in. After all, I am a Foodie. But then I had to remember- faith. God provided manna. So I need to keep the faith.

Regardless of all, God is still good. There’s no reason to fear for God has promised to be with us. We can trust Him, no matter what.

WORDS OF FAITH

And we know that all things work together for good to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust. Psalm 91: 1,2

The red ribbon represents praying for our USA and all CV-!9 sufferers.

Old Lies or New Truth

Old lies or new truth, what do you listen to? Specifically what do you speak in self-talk, old lies or new truth? Here’s some examples of old lies and new truths I’ve heard:

1. Old Lie: “You’re fat and ugly too.” This was the #1 lie I’ve heard throughout my life, a lie from Satan.                                        This picture was made in May 2013.

New Truth: You’re created in God’s image.

New Truth: Eating, although pleasurable, is not the source of joy in life.

4. Old Lie: Everything’s going wrong today. So go ahead, eat some comfort food. Then you’ll feel better. Food is comfort and pleasure. After all, you’re under a lot of stress. So get a treat.

New Truth: Overeating causes more stress.

So what do you listen to, lies or truth? You choose.

One Small Step

Posted on by

One small step

One small step of obedience is all it takes to get to your victory. Then another small step is added to another and another and another until you reach your total victory.

But Lord, I don’t know what to do or even what to do.

Surrender is the key to your victory. Trust Me, My Child. With My help you can do all things, including lose weight and eliminate debt. All it takes is discipline and surrender.

Lord I have failed so much, so many times.

Then Child, it’s time for you to get up and start over afresh. I AM the God of new beginnings, new life, a new life of victory.

Lord, I start out my days so well. But by nightfall, it’s “mess up” time.

Because Child, you don’t fight the temptation. You just give in. Learn to fight. With each battle, your strength increases. You are not to old to fight and win. After all, Moses was 80 when he started.

But Lord, I am not Moses.

But you are My Child. And I have a work for you just as I had for Moses. He had an assignment and so do you. Now get up, wash your face, and go forth in the assignment I have for you today.

Yes Sir. But Lord, could You help me?

Child, know that I AM. But all it takes from you is one small step of obedience. Then this one small step builds on another and another until total victory is yours.

Words of Victory

Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. Joshua 1:7 NLT

But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.            1 Corinthians 15:57 NKJV

For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world- our faith. 1John 5:4 NKJV

Don’t you realize that you become the slaves of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living. Romans 6:16 NLT

Offer Your Body to God

Offer your body in submission

“Not only am I calling you to offer your body in submission, but also I’m calling you to serve others as well,” said my Lord. “In addition you should also seek My will about your food choices, when to eat, what to eat and how much to eat. Then your victory over food will come.”

Yes Lord, I do want to serve You. And I want to help others too.

_______________________

Therefore, I urge you brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, and pleasing to God. This is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:2 NIV

“So do it today, not tomorrow. In fact, start now living in the victory I’ve already planned for you. Don’t wait until tomorrow.”

Of course Lord, I want victory in my life. But what do You want from me?

“Specifically, . . . I want all of you,. . . your heart, your mind, and your body.”

But Lord, I’m pretty messed up. Why would You want me?

“Child, I want all of you because you are Mine, even the messed up parts. Overall, you are to seek Me about all things. Seek My advice, My wisdom, and My guidance one day at a time, one moment at a time. So ask and ye shall receive.”

All who listen to My instructions and follow them are wise, like a man who builds his house on solid rock. Matthew 7:24 TLB

“In fact Child, I have many plans for you. First and foremost, I’ve already planned  your freedom and total deliverance from this bondage of compulsive overeating. So as you offer your body in submission to My will, I set you free. Also read My Word. Thereby feeding your spirit and not your body.”

Being confident of this very thing that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6 NKJV

_____________________________

“Child, know that I always finish what I start.”

That you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. Philippians 1:10-11NKJV

_______________________________

“Child, as you offer your body, your heart, and your mind to Me, I’ll fill you full of the fruits of righteousness. I will fill you with My Holy Spirit which increases the fruits of righteousness in your life.”

. . .  so Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death.      Philippians 1:12 NKJV

_________________________

“Yes Child, I’m using your weight struggles as a witness for My glory. I will be magnified in your body as you yield yourself in total submission to My will for you. This also includes your food choices.

Do you think failure and entrapment is what I have planned for you? No, what I have planned for you will give you a hope and a future. My plans are not to harm you, but to prosper you instead. And I plan to fill you with My Presence forevermore.”
