Lord, I’ve become entangled in food addiction again. I’ve been in this trap of defeat for several years now. Really all my life I have struggled with my weight and food addiction.
What’s humiliating is that after You healed me with a weight loss miracle of losing 90 pounds in 2014, I backslid. Yes, in 2017, I backslid and regained 30 0f those pounds.
Although I’ve maintained a weight loss of 60 pounds, I’m ashamed of regaining those 30 pounds. And now I’ve lost & regained the same 10 pounds over & over since 2020.
Lord, I wanted to help others defeat their food addiction, compulsive overeating, binge eating, gluttony, and bloating misery. But how can I help others when I, myself, am entangled in food addiction again?
Yes, here I am now due to my own wrong choices of yesterday. Lord, would You help me again to climb out of this hellhole of my own creation?
I have no strength to resist temptation, but I do want to help others climb out of their hellholes of food addiction. So how can I help them?
Child, I’m full of Almighty power- stronger than any other source. I am ALL power, stronger than your electricity and more powerful than lightening.
Don’t you think I have the power to defeat your food compulsions?
Yes Lord.
Then My Child, why don’t you come to Me first, before you put anything in your mouth- including your gum. As you chew your gum, practice thanking Me for your victories. When you chew your food, talk to Me.
As a matter of fact, even before you look at your food, talk to Me first about it. Talk to Me about all your concerns.
Talking to Me will bring you peace, henceforth destroying your need to stress eat. For then you’ll be stress praying instead of stress overeating.
Talking with Me will calm your spirit and mind, henceforth destroying the need for emotional eating. For then you’ll be emotional praying. And I will heal your emotions and fill you Myself with a calm and peaceful spirit. Wouldn’t that be better for you instead of a stuffed, bloated belly?
Talking with Me would bring you the pleasure of My sweet Presence, henceforth destroying the power of pleasure food temptations. And then you’d be experiencing the greatest sweet pleasure of life, My Presence surrounding you and within you.
When you’re full of My Presence, then you’re also full of My power and strength. Overall, you’d be full of My peace and My love.
Temptations would no longer defeat you for then you’d be walking in My power and My strength.
Now what do you choose, My Child?
Lord, I choose You. I want You. I want to be free, not entangled in food addiction. But Lord, I’m so weak. Would You help me, even though I backslid due to my own bad choices?
Child, the more of your time you spend in My Presence, the stronger you’ll become. You’ll be walking in My power.
Now come to Me for I love you. And I long to give you victory throughout all your life. As a matter of fact I long to grant all of My children victory over sin, shame and defeat.
I intend for all of My children to live victorious forevermore. For I AM victory. So all of Mine will be victorious too, as they seek to follow Me.
Lord, I’ve let myself become entangled again in food addiction by my own wrong choices. Please set me free from this prison, the one I created for myself. Help me make wise choices that will honor you.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love. Galatians 5:13 NIV
Child, slow down your eating. Take time to enjoy each bite versus swallowing it as fast as you can in order to reach for the next bite.
To begin with, eating is not a marathon race to finish first. For you, winning is not cleaning your plate first. Instead, winning for you is eating only what is sufficient for your body, savoring each bite. Yes, I want you to enjoy your food, but not inhale it.
So slow down, take your time. You’ve heard the saying, “Take time to smell the coffee.” Now I say to you, “Take time to taste your food.” And chew it slowly too. Chewing slowly increases the flavor.
When you chew and swallow your food as fast as you can, you can’t enjoy the taste as much as you would have if you chewed it slowly. So try slowing down to enjoy your meals.
And see for yourself if this doesn’t increase the pleasure of your meal. Trust Me.
Yes Sir. I’ll try today.
Also try eating less at your meals in order to increase your hunger for the next meal.
Your Hubby will be eating every every 2-3 hours on his food plan. But you, My child, I want you to hunger for Me. You are to be semi-fasting. Do you remember what you said to Me yesterday?
Yes Sir.
You said you wanted to live a semi-fasted lifestyle to increase your spiritual focus.
Yes Sir, I did say that.
Well child . . . eating all of it is not semi-fasting. In reality, it is eating all of it.
Yes sir.
So try again today. Start over again today. And focus on enjoying the pleasure of My Presence versus the pleasure of food.
Also before you eat, seek My advice about what and how much to eat. Use your “before the meal blessing” as a time to seek My will about your food.
Thank you Lord for talking with me about my food issues again today. You’ve never given up on me even though I’ve messed up so many times.
Child, I never give up on any of My children. Therefore, I will never give up on you.
Lord, help me to please you in all my ways. Help me to not be filled with anxiousness and self-pity parties too. Overall Lord, I need Your help just to deal with all this stress in my life.
So be at peace, My child. I will help you. Allow Me to fill you with My Presence. This will strengthen you as you goes forth. And slow down your eating too. I have already planned for your victory. Never give up on yourself. Know this, I will never give up on You. Never give up.

Yes Lord, I’ve struggled with my weight and these regained pounds, up and down with the same 10 pounds for basically two years now.
All this time I’ve experienced guilt, shame, or rejoicing due to the numbers on a scale. This year I want release and deliverance. Lord, I’m sick of this struggle. And I’m sick of what I consider to be my failures. Would You help me? I’m ready to move on to the victory You have for me.
And yet with all the problems, issues, and major life struggles throughout this world, I feel guilty talking to You about my weight struggle. So many people throughout Earth are struggling just for a piece of bread. Here I am struggling not to eat the bread.
Child, it’s your heart I want, a yielded heart, seeking My will, full of love for Me. That’s what I desire most. So yield yourself totally to Me. Then I’ll fill you with more of My Holy Spirit to overflow. When you’re full of My Presence, you’ll lose desire for other things such as unnecessary food.
When conditions of this world are overwhelming, you want to to overeat due to stress. Come to Me now.
Sing to Me. As you sing to Me, then My calming peaceful Spirit will fill you with My peace.
Also remember, look away from your earthly news and keep your eyes on Me.
So Lord, how do I keep My eyes on You. How do I look at You? I can’t see You.
Child, look around. What do you see?
I see a beautiful peace lily plant growing. 
I made it grow.
There are pictures of my grandchildren.
I gave you their love.
There are souvenirs from our trip to Israel.
I arranged that trip for you.
There are framed cross-stitched scriptures on the wall and prompted up on the floor.
Those are My words presented in a beautiful form to please you and encourage you.
There’s a bowl of rocks I picked up from the valley of Elah where David killed Goliath.
Child, I have many David’s throughout this land who are killing their giants of defeat.
Your weight struggle is a giant before you at this time. So use the rock of My Presence and you’ll defeat this giant.
Just as the Israelites shook in their knees fearful of Goliath, you’re full of fear too. But know this, just as David was full of faith knowing I’d help him, I’ll help you defeat your giant too.
Now go forth in your victory singing praise songs for My glory. Because I have already given you the victory.

Again Lord, I ask for a a strong word, a “power” word from You. I know you’ve spoke to my heart many times before. But now, I’ve given up and surrendered to my weakness.
Therefore, could I have a new fresh word from You? Could it be one I could hold on to and would cause my faith to be fully convinced so I can believe?

Old lies or truth, what do you listen to? Specifically what do you speak in self-talk, old lies or truth? (Note: This is a repost from earlier this year, but I need to hear it again. How about you?)
Here’s some examples of old lies and truths I’ve heard:
1. Old Lie: “You’re fat and ugly too.” This was the #1 lie I’ve heard throughout my life, a lie from Satan.

Truth: You’re created in God’s image. So you’re beautiful. After all, God don’t make ugly. In fact He delights in you just as you are. And He sings over you too.
The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love, He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17 NKJV
2. Old Lie: “You’re a failure. You can’t stick to a diet. You can’t do anything right. Even if you lost weight, you’ll just gain it back.” This lie competes with #1 for first place.
Truth: With God on your side, you’re guaranteed victory. “Never a failure. Always a lesson.”

3. Old Lie : You’re older now, so its harder to lose weight. After all, your metabolism has slowed down to nothing. So why try? Just quit. Eat all you want and enjoy life.
Truth: Eating, although pleasurable, is not the source of joy in life. Living in God’s Presence is the ultimate source of joy. And He will fill you with His joy, true joy unspeakable.
You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your Presence. Acts 2:28 NKJV

Does life feel like this? It’s an old lie that food will make you feel better. It’s truth that seeking God’s advice will bring peace.4. Old Lie: Everything’s going wrong today. It seems the world is going crazy. So go ahead, eat some comfort food. Then you’ll feel better. Food is comfort and pleasure. After all, you’re under a lot of stress. So get a treat.
Truth: Overeating causes more stress. When your clothes get tight, the scales go up, and shame comes due to overeating, you have more stress.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6 NKJV
God’s Presence brings peace and victory. So what do you listen to, old lies or truth? You get to choose.

Your victory is assured because of Me. For I’ve already created plans for your victory.
But you must eat only 3 meals a day due to the underlying compulsion to overeat. Food addiction is waiting at the door to consume you. Therefore remember, you must eat as I have instructed. John the Baptist ate locusts and honey. So you can do this.
Even though you are the one consuming the food, this is the sin that easily entraps you in defeat. This sin is waiting for you to open the door so it can come in to consume you. It consumes your victory. And it defeats your winning attitude.
Because of Me, your victory is assured. The weight of defeat and shame is not My will for My children. Victory over sin is My will. Therefore the more you maintain a closeness to My Presence, the easier it is for you to gain victory and win your battles over food addiction.
You’ve heard “Pray without ceasing”. This doesn’t mean repeating your prayer list over and over. Instead, it’s maintaining your communication with Me throughout your day. It’s focusing on our relationship and interacting with Me. You could say, it’s maintaining an awareness of My Presence with you.
Talk with Me about everything, every detail of your life and the lives of those you are concerned about.
I AM GOD, the God over everything. And yet, I am concerned over every detail of your life. Think about that for a while. I am concerned over you personally, and everything in your life too.
Yes, there are times when you make bad choices. But I will never leave you or forsake you for you are Mine. And I work out all things for the good of those who love Me. No matter what you see.
Don’t look at what you see. Instead look at Me. Then watch and see what I will do for I am the God of victory. And I will bring about victory in the lives of all those who love Me. Know your victory is assured for I have already planned for it.
As you look around you see much that looks like defeat and discouragement, sickness and death. But I am the God of life, eternal life, and victory. I have come to grant abundant life and victory over defeat.
Satan’s desire is to kill, steal, and destroy. So when you see people killing each other, stealing from one another, and destroying each other’s property, know it’s from Satan.
Overall, know that I came to bring about new life, abundant life, total victory, and internal peace within the storms.
Finally know that I WIN. No matter what you see with your eyes, I WIN. Remember that and take comfort in knowing I am with you. I will bring you through all things. Your victory is assured.
Focus on My Presence and victory is yours. You will win for I have already fixed your race in advance. So you can rest in MY peace knowing I have already arranged your victory.
So now go forth in My plans for your day. Remember and focus on this, My plan is for your victory. I am the God of victory. I win, therefore you win.
Now go forth in confidence knowing I am by your side. No matter what, I will bring you through. For your victory is assured.

Thought I’d share our coronavirus experience. It’s not over yet, but what a month it’s been. Hope this never happens again.
Stay Home
Overall we do have a lot to be thankful for. To begin with, we’ve escaped getting the virus. Although a friend went to the hospital for emergency stomach surgery, he didn’t get CV-19. Although a sister-in-law went to the hospital for emergency surgery due to a kidney stone, she didn’t get CV-19. To me, the worst part of their hospital stay for over a week was that they could not have any family with them. Both are safely home now. Thank you Lord.
At this time, our city has the highest number of cases in our state. But no one I personally know has gotten the virus. It seems the greatest number of cases are in the rest homes. (Lord, bring Your healing power to these precious elders.)
Hubby’s niece works as a speech therapist in a quality rest home. Although the report is they now have 45 cases, she has not gotten the virus. For this we are thankful. She has two small children to care for. (But Lord, please intervene in behalf of these elders who have served others throughout their lives.)
To begin our coronavirus experience story, we must begin at the grocery store. At the beginning of our story I was still working part time. So I wasn’t able to go grocery shopping at that time. But when I did go, was I ever surprised. I’ve never seen the shelves this empty in all my life, not even when a hurricane was coming.
The milk case- Almost no milk
I was shocked. It took seven trips to purchase what I thought we might need. What if we were quarantined in our house for two weeks and couldn’t even leave for groceries? Getting sick didn’t make me panic or fearful, but seeing empty food shelves did.

And you couldn’t find toilet paper anywhere. Why? There were no extra rolls at my house. So I bought boxes of Kleenex. It was all I could find and I felt lucky to find that.
One afternoon, Hubby came in and said he had a gift for me. Then he handed me this package of toilet paper. I was so thrilled, you’ve thought he gave me diamonds.

For me, one of the worst parts was not being able to see my grandchildren. We did use facetime, but it just wasn’t the same. I like hugs from my grandbabies.

And we weren’t able to be there to help granddaughters celebrate their birthdays. So we made a video for each one on their birthday.

We watched as the Stock Market crashed. Goodbye Hubby’s IRA, 25 years of his life savings disappearing daily.
But overall, the saddest event of our coronavirus experience was the death of Hubby’s brother. No, he didn’t have CV-19. He was cutting limbs out of an oak tree at his church. Somehow he fell off the ladder. We suppose he hit his head on some landscaping rocks. Even though they rushed him by helicopter he passed away on the way.
At his funeral we could only have 10 people and we had to social distance one another. In the chapel, we had to sit on every other pew. They did livestream the service for others to watch. So sad and so surreal.
After the funeral we ate a family meal together and hugged each other in his home. To heck with social distancing. We were grieving and didn’t care about social distancing at all.
Later that night I developed a fever of 100.6. I cried myself to sleep thinking that I had exposed the entire family to CV-19. It turned out to be a bad tooth. Thank God and antibiotics, it quit hurting. But I’m still waiting to see a dentist.
Drive-up church
One of my favorite holidays is Easter. But this year was the saddest Easter ever. Two days after the funeral. It felt so strange, having no grandchildren to give a basket too. No dressing up for church, no singing in the choir, and no family celebration.
We did go to drive-up church which was nice, but it just wasn’t the same as having Resurrection Sunday celebration in the sanctuary.
Now media has been talking about a possible food shortage due to CV-19. After hearing that a full-fledge panic set in. After all, I am a Foodie. But then I had to remember- faith. God provided manna. So I need to keep the faith.
Regardless of all, God is still good. There’s no reason to fear for God has promised to be with us. We can trust Him, no matter what.
WORDS OF FAITH
And we know that all things work together for good to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7

Here’s part of my Victory Plan journal for the “Stay Home” order. Due to this mandate, for several weeks I’ve mostly ate and watched TV. So now I’ve gained over 10 pounds. How depressing.
Then last week God gave me a dream- I was in my classroom, my students were acting crazy, I had no lesson plan, and the principal walks in to observe me. I panicked. What am I going to do?- Then when I woke up and God spoke to my heart, “You need discipline and a plan.” (Note: I am a retired teacher.)
So I’m sharing my Victory Plan Journal for your “Stay Home” mandate. Hope it helps you as well. It’s free for you to print and use for yourself.
My goal is 40 days of victory, in eating and in life general. So here’s my plan, to work through this journal for 40 days. Presently I’m working on Day 5 and I’ve already lost 2 pounds. Yay!
I’ll post more Victory Plans next week. Hopefully this’ll help you begin 40 days of victory for your “Stay Home” mandate. I’m hoping soon we’ll be released from this order soon. Some states are opening up slowly and some states are extending their stay at home order. Hopefully soon, we can return to our so-called normal lives again. What is normal, anyway? What is our new normal?

You know Lord . . . I didn’t walk in obedience yesterday. And now I’m here before You asking for forgiveness again, yet another time. Because I know I don’t deserve it, Your love amazes me.
Please help me walk in obedience today. And please forgive me. We both know that I didn’t bring You any honor, glory, and praise yesterday. Help me to fulfill Your will in all I do, say, think, and even to what I eat in Jesus’ name.
Lord, . . . all I can say is I’m sorry.
Child, I’m sorry too. You could have had victory, supernatural victory. But now you don’t. Instead you have weight gain.

So you didn’t weigh yourself today, did you?
No Sir.
I see . . . if only you would come to Me. Then I could deliver you from this bondage. After all, I have many plans of victory for you.
Oh Lord, I do want victory.
Then come here to Me.
Yes Lord, here I am.
Know that you are Mine and nothing can change that. I love you, My child.
Sir, I love You too. I’m sorry I wasted yesterday. I do want to serve You. Yesterday, I know You saw it all.
