Listen carefully to Me and eat what is good. Isaiah 55: 2

Lord, help me to seek Your will in all I do, not do, say, not say, eat, not eat, even to what I think, not think.

Renew my mind so that it seeks Your will above all else. Lord, also fill me with a deep hunger for Your Presence and Your Word that can never be satisfied. Above all, fill me with a desire for more and more of You.

So Jesus answered  and said to them, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say unto you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:22-24

Lord, I believe You have the power to deliver me from this stronghold and the compulsion to overeat. I ask and believe from now on I will eat according to Your will and Your plan for Me. You know what is good for me, therefore I’ll seek Your advice and follow Your will in all I put in my mouth.

Lord, I also need to submit the words of my mouth, the intents of my heart, and the thoughts within my mind to You. I submit my will to You in all I do, think, and even my emotions.

Yes Lord, I give my emotions to You. Fill me with praises for Your goodness instead of stress with my out of control emotions. Jesus, I trust You. Let me fill myself with You versus all else I would fill myself with.

Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:8-10 NKJV

.  . . I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn’t think of it as a gift and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then He told me, “My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.”

Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer. These limitations that cut me down to size – abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.  2 Corinthians 12: 7-10 Message

Lord, I’m going to be honest with You about my food issue. You know it already. Why can’t I eat everything I want when I want it? I enjoy the pleasure of abundant food, the way it tastes,  and how it feels in my mouth. Yes, I do enjoy chewing.

Lord, there were times when I asked to be able to eat everything I want without gaining weight, but that’s not how it works according to Your plan. I’ve been filled with envy as I watch those skinny people eat plates of abundant food. Then I complained to You, “Why can’t I be this way? I eat one morsel of extra food and it grows on my body. This isn’t fair, Lord. Why can they overeat and stay skinny, but not me?

I’ve heard the joke about the person who prays before a plate of abundant food casting out the calories. Then the preacher tells him, “This kind only comes out through prayer and fasting.” Lord, I don’t think that’s funny. I don’t want to fast, I want to eat everything. Why can’t I eat everything I want? This is not fair!

My child, read those scriptures again and again until you get it. Do you want to be filled with My strength or would you rather live in your weakness?

Lord, it seems I’m filled with my weakness. It’s always there just waiting for me to fall into a plate of food. I only see my weakness. I see what I can’t have and I want it. Yes, I confess to You, I want it all.

My child, how many times have I instructed you? “Don’t look at what you see. Instead, look at Me.” If you will look to Me, then you will find that I am more than enough.

You don’t have any needs, except for more of Me within your life, your heart, and your mind. Now don’t look at what you see with your eyes of humanity, but look unto Me with the eyes of your soul. Allow Me to fill you with Myself. Look unto Me, for I will supply all you have need of.

Look unto Me as your source, not your food pleasures. That pleasure is short-lived, but the pleasure of My love is for eternity. Now I tell you, “Look unto Me for I AM all, ALL that you will ever need. Fill yourself with a desire for Me.”

Yes Sir. Forgive my whining and complaining. Forgive my greed and disobedience in reaching for more food in my greed. Fill me with a desire for You instead of this pleasure food. Thank you for loving me in spite of myself. Help me to love you with all of my heart, all of my soul, and all of my mind. Amen.
