Goodbye old friends. I’m going to miss you. For the last several years we’ve been together for the Christmas holidays. You went with me Christmas shopping, to Christmas parties, and to family gatherings. I have enjoyed you so much. You hung around me during my favorite time of the year. We have eaten together, opened presents together, and enjoyed our Christmas’ together.
But it is time to say goodbye. You have outgrown me, or rather I have undergrown you, and you no longer fit in my life. You’re bigger than I am.
YEA! Praise God! Not that I will miss you, I’m just glad I”M too small for you.
You are going to a new home to make new friends and bring joy to others.
But you, my friend, I just could not part with. I have enjoyed you too much, even if you do make me look fat?
Santa is fat and everyone loves him. You made my grandchildren laugh. I have too many good memories with you. So you stay.
I’m not on Santa’s diet of milk and cookies. Oh, but that would be nice, wouldn’t it? If only milk and cookies had zero calories.
Lord, I want milk and cookies. Why can’t I eat whatever I want and be a size 8? Why do I have to struggle with food and calories? I have seen others eat whatever they wanted and they were still small. I have low thyroid, and low metabolism, and I have gained weight just smelling food. It doesn’t seem fair. Now there are parties with lots of wonderful delights. What am I going to do?
Remember those bags of cookies you used to consume. The pleasure was short-lived and filled you with self-condemnation. Now you can enjoy small portions with self-control. As you let go of what is in your hand, in this case abundant cookies, I can fill you with Myself and abundant life.
My child, I’ll guide you and lead you in the way you should go. Keep your focus on Me and I will deliver you from this stronghold of defeat. It’s not wrong for you to have milk with a couple of cookies. I did not come to rob you of pleasure. Instead I came to bring you a new life of victory.
Also, quit looking and comparing the life of others to your life for I have specific plans for each individual one. Your concern should be for what I have called you to, not to compare yourself to others. Follow Me and see what I will do in your life.
