Lord, thank you for loving me. Right now, I’m not too happy with myself. You have watched me all week. You saw it all, every bite. Yep, I’ve been taking extra bites and ended up in self-condemnation. I know I shouldn’t be so hard on myself, it was only a few extra bites. But . . . I’ve been taking these extra bites at every meal since Monday.
I said that I wouldn’t eat any dessert until Christmas Day. At the buffet, I told Hubby I wanted to feel a sense of victory, so no dessert. The waitress brought me at cup of hot decaf at no charge. Yea. I sat there with my legs crossed feeling all smug in my victory.
Then I looked at Hubby’s cake and his pie too. Hmm. He said, “I’m not going to eat all this.” So I got my fork and took 4 bites of cake and 3 bites of pie to help him. “Guess I’ll have a few bites.” Sigh, now I feel defeated instead of victory.
I also put together a “Victory Chart” to encourage others to look for their victories. Where is my victory?
My child, I am your hope and your victory. I am the example. Look to Me.
Lord, I did that Periscope post Tuesday titled “Confession.” Only men watched it . . . 24 men. What were they hoping to see? I can only shake my head in wonderment. One of the men was “Jesus”. Was that You? Were You watching me?
My child, that was not Me. But I was watching you. I see all and know all. I’ve been by your side this whole time. When you make wrong choices I hurt for you because I know the pain it brings you. I also know the joy that I bring for you.
It is My strength that you need. When you stopped eating in mid-food it was Me that provided the strength for You to push that food away. I also provided the strength when you walked away from the food temptation. My strength is perfect for your weaknesses.
Even with those extra bites, I provided a victory for you. Instead of beating yourself up, look how you stopped eating in mid-food, mid-bite. That My child was your victory. In past years when you took extra bites they led to a full-fledged binge that lasted for days, sometimes weeks. Do you remember?
My child, I love you and I’ve come to set you free. You’re covered by My blood, sealed forever in My family of love. You are Mine. I am your victory. You are My victory. With every heart sealed by the blood of My love, I gain victory.
As you surrender your self and your desires to Me, I’ll grant you victory over all that hinders you. My grace is sufficient in your weakness. Now come to Me and I will lift you up. I am the way to your victory. If you come to Me I will save you, even from yourself. I’ve brought you this far. Now I’ll help you finish to cross your victory line. You’re running a race, your life race. So you tripped and fell. I said to you now, “Get up and start over again.”
Everyone, including Myself, enjoys seeing one that fell and then got up to win in victory.
Lord, what do You want from me?
My child, all I want from you is your love. For I loved you first.
We love Him because He first loved us. I John 4:19 NKJV
