The Truth Comes Out- Part One

Posted on by

The truth comes out. And this is how it all started –

Last month, I was contacted by a lady through Twitter and she asked to connect to my Facebook as well.

She seemed so friendly and asked if we could study the Bible together. When I asked, she said she was a Christian. Responding to my silly comments, her laughter seemed so innocent.

Later she asked if she could call me “Mom” since her Mother lived in Hong Kong and she didn’t get to talk to her much. I thought, “Oh how sweet. Sure, I’ll be glad to do an online Bible study with her. Sure, she can call me “Mom”.

This made me feel important. At least I would make a difference in somebody’s life. It all seemed so innocent.

The first week she’d message me early in the morning and sometimes late at night too. Her FB messages were so many, they became overwhelming. So I told her when I was busy and couldn’t talk. Still she continued with her messages. Eventually they were intrusive.

(He’s the Sheik of our home, sometimes. Overall, he’s my best friend.)

One day, I said , “My husband’s home and I’ve got to go.” Her reply was, “Well, I don’t want my Daddy to yell at you.” To begin with, I thought it was funny and thought, “No he doesn’t yell, just whines and pouts.”  I  should’ve  realized  something  was  wrong  then.  But  eventually  the truth  comes  forth.

Later the more I thought about her comment the angrier I got. So I didn’t answer her  messages throughout the weekend. Yes, she’d message me even on weekends. It got to where I just ignored the messages.

But then on Monday when we talked, she asked if we could include her friend in our Bible study. By then, I had cooled off. Sure, why not. So we added her friend to our group and would chat on a FB Message group call.

It all seemed innocent enough, except for the constant messaging. Now I had two of them. So when I was busy, I just ignored them. Finally I told them we had to plan a scheduled time to talk. So we did.

I still got messages throughout the day. It felt intrusive. So I ignored them.

(This story will be continued. Look for upcoming Part Two. Always use caution with social media.)

He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord. Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies. Psalm 40: 2-4 NKJV

But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. Stranger2 Thessalonians 3:3

And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. . . . Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. Matthew 24: 4-5, 11 NKJV
