BEGINNING A NEW WALK!!!

Posted on by

Last spring, I started riding a bicycle to get physically fit. Then on May 16, 2011, I had a serious bicycle wreck. As a result, I ended up with surgery, seven screws and a plate, two months in a wheelchair, and several months of physical therapy. I am now released from the doctor, but I still walk with a serious limp and a cane for support. So much for getting physically fit!

I started this process of healing with an optimistic attitude. My goal was to go on record as the fastest recuperating patient ever! God’s sweet presence was with me in a mighty way while I was in the hospital. It was a wonderful experience as I felt His love! Then as time proceeded and I experienced the painful demands of physical therapy, the stresses and anxieties of family issues (I have a wayward son, enough said), and the fact that God did not answer my prayers as I had dictated to Him (He did answer them, just according to His plan, not mine), I back-slid completely into relapse and turned to food again for comfort to ease my pain. As a result I gained most of my weight back. Now, I still have my wayward son and some slight physical pain along with stiffness in my leg, but God, in His mercy, still loves me! Wow!   God is allowing me to start over and begin a “new walk” with Him. He is giving me another chance! He is the God of “second chances”, for me. . . the God of a “million chances”! For this I am grateful and I praise Him for His mercy and forgiveness! Also, He is allowing me to write about our conversations again. Oh, what pleasure!

. . . Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.   Philippians 1:6 NKJV

. . . The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and He delights in his way, though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.           Psalm 37: 23-24 NKJV
