Lord, You said for me to listen more. I want to hear You. Do I fast today in order to hear You? I’m not hungry now, but last night at supper I had to fight the urge to eat more and more.
My child, just eat less today. Judge how much you eat by your hunger. Eat less, listen more.
Yes Sir. Help me to listen to those You send me. Let me work Your will today. Direct my steps according to Your plans, Your way.
As you look to Me, I will lead you. Listen, for I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go. I will guide you with My eye.
Lord, I also talked too much at supper about my blah, blah, blah. I should listen more, especially to You. I’m still working on 40 days of no fried foods and no desserts. Will I be different at the end of this period, or will I just be the same as before?
My child, you will be different. Maybe wiser, and completely free from the love of food. You are learning submission and obedience. I am teaching you as you go.
I’ve heard, “Lord, put Your arm around my shoulder and Your hand over my mouth.” Help me keep my mouth shut and listen to others more. I don’t want to be a selfish person only concerned with mine, mine, mine or me, me, me.
I will teach you. Today you will have a lesson.
I hate lessons. They’re hard.
My child, this is how you learn and grow.
I’m not concerned about your enjoyment of food. I am more concerned about your love for food. I’m in the process of ripping that love from your heart now. In the end your love for Me will be complete and without the weeds of greed choking out My words.
I ate too much squash yesterday, but it was so good. I rationalized that it was a healthy food. I loved it with the onions too.
My child, I gave you that squash, but I long for you to enjoy My Presence more than your food pleasures.
Yes Sir. Forgive me and help me to obey You in all things even to the amount of vegetables to eat. Do I start another 40 days again?
Lord, help me listen, trust, and obey.
