JUST A “WEANED” CHILD

Psalm 121

Lord, I ate only two meals yesterday and no after work ice cream cone. I felt release and a sense of victory! Thank you Lord! Also thank you for leading me to the scripture, “Be still and know that I am God. . !” Psalm 46:10 NKJV. Lord, you have told me ,”Be still” and I really didn’t understand what a blessing that is until yesterday. Thank you, Lord, for this gift of encouragement and assurance that victory will come no matter what my eyes see within these circumstances of life. Lord, thank you for loving me, leading me,teaching me, and being patient with me when I just don’t get it.

Psalm 131: 2 NKJV: Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with his mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.

Isaiah 30:15 NKJV: . . .”In returning and rest you shall be saved, in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”. . .

Exodus 14:13-14 NKJV: (13) And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today”. . . . . .(14) “The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”

I Samuel 12:16 NKJV : “Now therefore, stand and see this great thing which the Lord will do before your eyes: . . .”

Lord, you have tried to tell  me,”Be still” and my reply was, “How can I be still when I have so much to do?” But now Lord, I see and understand that it is the times of ‘stillness’ before You that will give me strength and confidence. Being ‘still’ before You will bring the victory! You were offering me the way to victory and I could not see the truth for looking at the circumstances. Oh Lord, forgive my blindness!

Lord, through the study of the word ‘still’, I am concluding that within a quietness, ceasing from all activity, and drawing toward You will I find healing and deliverance. As I am still before You I will find deliverance from my compulsion to overeat and the stresses of life’s struggles.

I have a new understanding of “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” II Corth.12:9. Therefore, Lord, I know that as I am ‘still’ before You in my weaknesses, You will bring healing and deliverance. I will become as a ‘weaned child’ standing by its mother, knowing fully well that ‘Mom will take care of me! Lord, I know now that I don’t have to stress out because You will take care of me! Thank You, Lord! I love You, Lord! I will be still before You, do with me as You will!
